I want to level up on matchmaking like on Halo 3! Please add it 343! It’s no fun having noobs on your team when you can’t level up and get better team mates.
The best thing about Halo 3 is the level system. I’m a level 40 on Halo 3. I think Halo Reach is an amazing game but needs a level system.
Sadly, we prolly won’t get this which is one of the reasons reach is so boring honestly, if we had a ranking system, it would give alot more people the drive to play it. I miss being able to get on and go in and get my 50.
I like arena, have you tried it.
Its only downfall is you need a team, they scrapped FFA arena and if you go in solo, you will most likely lose a bunch of games and get bronze/iron
Bring back the True-Skill system 1-50 or just in each playlist so its competitve again.

It’s definitely still there, just invisible. That said, I see no reason not to include it, other than it encourages boosting and elitism. But in the end, the same can be said about ANY ranking system, even the current cR based one so having a “skill” based ranking system in Reach wouldn’t hurt really.
Trueskill is still active across Reach. They just made it invisible to make deranking and such like harder.

Lol no. They made it invisible because kids got too much $h1t for being bad and having a low rank so Bungie just took it out all together. Then they hid the 1 ranked playlist 5 pages into your service record in an attempt to reduce any hierarchy within game (obviously it didn’t work, as this is a problem with the community, not the matchmaking system). You can still derank and boost in Arena exactly how you would boost h3, but only like 20 people even care that much about Arena.
The trueskill margin of compatibility is much wider in the “hidden rank” playlists than in H3 ranked. If you and your team mate are a “hidden 50”'s in double team, at least half of your games you will match a 30 with a guest. I would know, as it happens every day to me. Trueskill IS still there, but the compatibility range in every playlist but Arena is still that of H3 social. Also, do not be confused by trueskill rank and your cR Rank. Trueskill rank is per-playlists, just like how h3 ranked was (and h3 social). You can have a 50 in 1 playlists and 1 in a playlist you’ve never played.

Deranking was a epic problem on H3. Most kids don’t know it because they didn’t play much in the upper 40s and 50. At 50, I would get a booster 4 or 5 games in a row.

To me the TS system not existent Halo Reach. You get matched with beginners in nearly every game, no matter if you set the preferences to skill or not (and my game history speaks for itself). IMO it’s just a big lie from Bungie and always will be.
I think that what 343 needs to do about this, if anything, is to improve the behind-the-scenes TrueSkill system for all playlists except for Arena. Skill range margins need to be thinned, scrap playlists if need be.
