I want to go back to the good old Halo 3 days where there weren't any challenges

343i simply shows its incompetence with game design with stupid challenges that promote playing poorly to achieve challenges.

Rather than playing to win and earning exp, play the way you want to play.
Instead, we get stupid challenges where one acts and behaves and performs in ways they normally don’t play and thus makes the team-based experience pretty bad. Players are incentivized to play certain ways to do challenges, like get sniper kills and then you have teammates competing for the sniper rifle, etc.

Why can’t we get more simplified challenges rather than odd and specific ones.
Why can’t we get better game design overall? This is terrible, I feel like nothing is being learned in the art of game design but merely a regression.

Agreed the whole battle pass and store nonsense needs to go too. Throw the whole system out

It’s not incompetent. Challenges entice all the s hitters to flood ranked and ruin the game for everyone because of cosmetics. The MCC was their conditioning program to prepare everyone for battlepass. Now instead of being totally against it everyone says they should be better and leave it at that. Everything is designed it get you to pay money for the store

ORRRRR they could make a normal choice for once by making kills/assists/medals/objective-plays/wins count towards 70% XP and the remaining 30% be challenges ANDDD have AT LEAST 20 unique challenges active at a time with another 10 or so challenges for Battlepass users.

The pretty easy and obvious choice to make this game fair, interesting and fun.
