I want something different

It’s been awhile since I’ve enjoyed a play through of Halo Combat Evolved. And I kind of miss it, but I never seemed to come back to it. It didn’t feel new, seeing as it’s the first game. So I went back to Halo 2, to revisit some good memories on Headlong, or enjoy a level like Quarantine Zone. And I did, it was great, but something was still somewhat missing. Then there was Halo 3, I also played it, looking for more entertainment, I found it, but got bored immediately. So I slipped in Halo Reach, and boy of boy was it fun…

But what made it so? Was it the fact that they included assassinations? The fact that load outs now came into play? A feature like armor abilities? There are so many things to factor in in what made Halo Reach so fun for me, and that was change. It feels different I know, but it also feels right.

Being a Halo fan for over a decade now, I’ve built up quite an opinion on what’s good for Halo and what isn’t. Now obviously, everyone enjoys Halo for many different reasons, but my favorite reason to come back to Halo is change. Nobody likes it, but everyone wants it, don’t believe me? Well, why did everyone buy Reach regardless of it’s additions? We Halo fans are like loyal dogs, we obey our owners and almost always abide by their judgements. It’s something we will always do, we don’t like Halo 4? We’ll still purchase it anyways.

Halo has evolved for quite the time now, and we as a community have been there to keep cheering on Bungie and adapting to Halo’s new flavors. None of us cared, we were there to play Halo for what it was and we still do it. Now, everything is different. But why? What is wrong with continuing the tradition of an excellent title and exploring new concepts and ideas that Halo has never seen before. So long as it’s Halo, and respects the foundation of its roots, I’m all up for it. And you should be too, just as Halo 2 released and everyone enjoyed it for years to come until the day its servers were shut down.

Please my fellow piers, build up the support for 343, they neuter the community and understand us as a whole. They realize the changes that they made and thats why they chose to keep them. Halo 4 will be nothing but a waste of patience and effort if you choose to boycott it before even it’s release.

Change is good, so learn to embrace it. And what ever happens happens. For good or for worse. What ever the case, we will always be there as a strong and powerful community to support 343 for another ten years of success!

KEEP IT CLEAN

Halo 1 2 and 3 were all similar. Reach was different.

I want something similar.

I asked for no flaming, and thank you for admitting that Halo Reach is different and that’s what made it interesting.

Are you saying I was flaming you?

And Reach being different was what made it unplayable to me.

But you still bought Reach didn’t you? Exactly what my forum states. Us Halo players will buy a Halo game regardless.

Lol, is that a good thing? I sincerely regret giving Bungie money for Reach.

I bought reach under a false trust that all the “it still feels like Halo” talk was true. I sold it a week later and have played 1755 games in however long it’s been since it was released. To put that into perspective, I played 20,000 games of Halo 2 in it’s 3-4 year lifespan and I have played 20,000 games of Halo 3 so far. I play halo 3 over Reach nowadays.

I will not be buying Halo 4 until I playtest it. I want to love halo 4 and I want to play 20,000 games of that as well, but I am not going to trust 343’s “it still feels like Halo” talk.

I’m excited for Spartan Ops. ITS GONNA BE AWESOME!

I remember getting on Halo 3 and seeing 150 to 200 thousand people playing at a time. Now on Reach its usually under 100 thousand. Of course people bought it, but many stopped playing it not long after. The way Halo 4 sounds so far is SO disappointing to what I was hoping. Halo doesn’t need instant respawn and custom loadouts, leave that for CoD. Halo has changed so much from Halo 3, it’s actually really sad.

Trust me Halo Reach population was larger compared to the Halo 3’s pop. You were just misinformed by the pop. indicator. Halo 3’s showed player within a 24 hour period and Halo: Reach’s showed the pop. within a 1 hour period. I would show you my entire thread showing this, but I’m too lazy, just check my last 10 posts, and you will find the link.
