To anyone that says “NO I WANT A DIFFERENT GAME” my response to that is …?? That sentence itself makes no sense. Have you ever thought of going out and buying a different game then?
I hope I’m not the only one that would be perfectly happy if they just remade Halo 3 with new weapons/maps/campaign. But we all know that wont be the case and 343 will most likely change the entire game again on us. Basically I want the game “Halo” back with better graphics new maps/weapons/campaign but SAME gameplay.
You’re definitely not the only one who wouldn’t mind a rehashed H3.
I personally would be in favour of just canning the Reach servers and bring H3 back to the forefront with better netcode, and THAT’S an idea you won’t see happening

I think 343i are really going to do the business on this. Looking at what they’ve put out so far I think they’ll be more keen to serve Halo and the fans than Bungie were.
If they really are going to be doing away with bloom and bring back melee bleedthrough then it shows they’re either listening to us or their idea of what makes Halo great is in line with our’s.
I certainly hope Halo 4 is nothing like Halo 3. I’d prefer a hybrid between 1 and 2 or something different entirely. If you want the next game to be more like “Halo,” then 3 is not what you want. The game mechanics were flawed (simultaneous beatdowns, etc.) and the Equipment was awful.
Equipment is vastly superior to Armour Abilities and the beatdowns are a lag counter so I won’t disagree with those either.
Equipment must stay, at LEAST, because otherwise we’ll get other wack crap as a gimmick, whereas Equipment was actually fairly balanced. I’m sorry if you don’t know how to run from a Power Drain, but don’t worry: it’ll only kill you once or twice a game, with not at all being a distinct possibility.
I agree that Halo should still be “Halo”, but if everything is going to be the same, why buy and waste another $60 for the same thing? Why even waste human resources on a rehashed game?
I understand CE:A because it’s a 10 year anniversary, but for something done only 1-3 years ago? I certainly hope H4 won’t be LIKE H3. Similarities are ok, but there HAS to be some sort of differences.
And yes, Armor Abilities are a huge difference. Though I have to say Halo: Reach is it’s own thing. Nothing to do with Halo 1, 2 and 3. And I’m only talking Multiplayer, here. To me, Halo: Reach is a spin-off of the Halo Series.
We get it, it always will be Halo. But that doesn’t mean there can’t be any improvement. I for one, would like to see Sprint return, and Bloom gone. See, it’s still Halo… or is it not?

Sorry but things have to change from one game to another. They shouldn’t be completely different but they also shouldn’t be exactly the same. The first Halo I played was Halo CE and since then every halo game has brought changes to the how the game plays but as far as I am concerned they have all been Halo to me. because for me what makes Halo Halo is the fiction that the game takes place in. game mechanics are always going to change that’s just the way it is but the fiction is what holds everything together. So IMO it’s the fiction that makes a Halo game Halo.

Halo needs to evolve. If I wanted the same thing over and over again with a new campaign… I’d buy call of duty. If Halo doesn’t change from the base of CE or H:2, then it would get really boring really quick and be no fun. If you want to just play Halo all the time, just play the old Halos.
> And hopefully it stays a spin-off, with armour abilities and bloom dying a quick death prior to the release of H4.
They didn’t “die”. Listen, if Bloom and Armor Abilities was such a mistake, why isn’t 343i just taking them out completely from matchmaking?? Why are they doing “Classic” side, where Bloom is gone and bleedthrough returned, and keeping the Reach side “untouched” (as far as AA and bloom is concerned)? Why not just do away with it completely?? I’m not much for conspiracies, I’m just sayin’. Or asking, rather.
Still, the topic at hand and I agree, Halo 4 should have the same formula Halo 1, 2, and 3 had. But just like 1, 2 and 3, there have to be some sort of changes that differ from one another.

A great majority of Halo Reach players don’t come to the Forums or stay up to date of the latest news. Removing bloom is such a radical change that many players will feel confused. You don’t change the face of a game that you just released to your public.

I am aware they haven’t died, you misread my post.
I am hoping they die, and that they die before Halo 4 comes out; ie, that they are not in Halo 4.
I would say every Halo game has been different. When I think of Halo I don’t think of a static game. It’s not like H1-H3 were the same. Each game plays differently. I would like Halo to keep the pattern it has already started. In other words I expect Halo 4 to play differently than Halo Reach.
Halo 4 should be its own title. Not like Halo 3, not like Halo 2, not like Halo Combat Evolved, and CERTAINLY not like Reach. Make it similar to Halo 3 in the sense that it’s closer to core gameplay, but add new features to make Halo 4 new; not a rehash, and not a drastic change like Reach.
If people played only Halo 3, I can understand that they would say that is the best game, but if you want the “best Halo game”, in my opinion it is:
Halo 2 game mechanics(movement, jump, shield, etc) with Halo CE: auto aim.
halo 3 graphics
Halo reach DMR. (except 4SK)
Halo 3 weapons beside BR and Pistol (DMR and Reach Pistol)
all i really want is the multiplayer models are the same as halo3. i hated reach’s small spartans,im sure it had nothing to do with being spartan3s and more to do with bigger enviroments?
