I want all of these quitters to be dealt with

I honestly don’t care if you guys do a ban for 3 hours or a full week. These people are plaguing this community by creating horrible experiences for others. 4 MATCHES IN A ROW 343, where my team has been reduced to 2 or 1 player(s) against 4. Do you know how big of a dis-advantage it really is? BAN THEM AND DO IT FOR THE SAKE OF KEEPING YOURLOYALFANS. It’s so ridiculous that this is my favorite Halo game where I have to experience this sort of thing. I know with the Cartographer’s Gift, you guys have created Social Playlist for the “Casual” players and with the Infinity’s Armory, you’ve given players an incentive to try and create maps in Forge so they could play with their friends on maps/game modes they’ve created. Here’s a suggestion though, reduce the ban sensitivity in Social and increase it on Ranked. Make a public announcement about it as well PLEASE. I have been involved in threads/forums, similar to this one, for weeks now trying to get you guys to hear me out (as well as countless others). Are we seeing any progress? I don’t know. Maybe with the social playlist and Forge being added but that still isn’t preventing them from quitting ranked. Have a way to track how many times a player has quit and block them from accessing the Ranked playlist for a certain number of matches. Or even having them redo all of their placement matches again. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND QUICKLY!!!

EDIT: This isn’t my first Halo game. The wording was a little weak on my part. What I meant to say was that this is my Favorite Halo game and this this is the first time I’ve experience this sort of frustration in a Halo game. Check out my Achievements on Xbox Live, I’ve got more than a thousand GS for H3 and logged out plenty of hours into Halo 4 and Halo MCC

I’m not trying to diminish your annoyance in any way, but “… this has been the first Halo game where I have to experience this sort of thing” almost makes me think that this is your first Halo game period. MCC, the most quitter-hostile Halo ever, was crippled by quitting. Halo 4 would have been had it not been for across-the-board JiP. It was pretty bad in Reach. Even Halo 3 had a pretty serious problem, particularly in its last few months.

I agree to you to a certain degree. This in fact isn’t my first Halo game. I started with Halo on Halo 2 and later bought Halo: CE to fully understand the story WAAAAAY Back. There weren’t Spartan Company implementation in Halo MCC or Halo 4 nor any prior Halo game. It was all based off the community where they could join groups to play on a daily basis. I play with a spartan company, I don’t have to deal with this issue when I’m playing with them. However, I could only play with my friends to a certain point when everybody starts dispersing or logs off because of time difference. So, I end up playing solo Arena… which leads to this problem. with the amount of time I’ve put into MCC, I haven’t seen so many people leave a match like this and that’s saying something. Many people agree with me on this, reference to countless posts in the forums of people complaining about the BanHammer not being sensitive enough to people quitting too early. I love the game for it’s entirety but I hate to tell people that THIS is Halo 5’s biggest flaw.

Fix the servers. I guarantee you most are being kicked from servers including myself. Not quitting. Halo 5 has been near unplayable for me and especially some in Europe this month.

I call BS. If server issues were the problem, then the winning team would be losing members as well. Server issues are a thing and I’m not denying that it does happen. But it doesn’t happen as often as you think. Look at the trend, when a team is losing by 5+ points, 1 player will leave. Following this would be another 1 or 2 more players because they get demotivated and have that mindset that they wont win. You only see the LOSING TEAM lose members and never the winning team.

I completely agree, I can’t seem to finish a game at the minute, keep being kicked out midway through and not registering and req points which is really annoying.

Understood. The trend doesn’t lie I agree, however, I’m experiencing this OFTEN as well as many others. Its frustrating.

Bump. Bump, bump, bump, bump.

If you’re going to put a big emphasis on competitive gameplay for Arena, then you have to make sure it’s treated seriously. If 343 is gun-shy about this, they should at least provide a reduced CSR impact for the losing team which scales based on how many people you’re missing by the end of the game. Something like:

  • 4 people on the losing team: standard CSR reduction - 3 people: -25% CSR reduction - 2 people: -66% CSR reduction - Last man standing: No CSR reduction

I can totally get on board with this. It sucks when there’s 2 players left or if you’re the last man standing. At least with 3 players you have a chance but any more than that just guarantees you a loss!

I know! I think everyone wins with this strategy, even if 343’s banhammer is too small.

Not entirely true, I’ve been in PLENTY of games where my team was winning but people kept getting kicked out cause of the crappy server lag or the game lags so hard that I can’t even take 2 steps without teleporting like crazy. All together Halo 5 has way too many issues considering how long it’s been in development and it’s disappointing really. I was looking forward to this game and instead I got game where the aim system is way off and getting shot through a solid wall happens way too many times.

P2P my friend. Sure they have dedicated servers, but playing with friends is entirely based on who has the best connection. If “Friend A” sent out invites and has poor internet service and everyone joins him/her, you’ll be experience an exponential amount of LAG and other connectivity issues. It would be the complete opposite if “Friend B” had good internet service. I, too, have experienced drops from the Halo 5 Servers. However, if I do get dropped I immediately check XBOX LIVE Services and see if there’s any social issues from their end. Not entirely 343’s fault if you can’t connect sometimes. Other times, sure they do experience server problem but that’s going to be a widespread thing across multiple studios.

  • A veto system would prevent early quitting due to map repetition and/or unwanted maps. - If you quit make it inpact your rank slightly more then a loss. an additional -25% CSR reduction. - If half or more of the team quits add an option in the menu to force a vote for surrender and if the majority votes yes the game will finish early. (2v4s often ends up in the undermanned team camping, its boring and it takes forever).

Lol I agree partially imo most players who are quitting in my games are better off quitting. The majority of them were dieing alot. I’ve had many a matches if winning with just 2 or 3 good players even in randoms.

People quit way to much… Unless they got lagged ouy t which happens a lot. They have to make it if someone lagged out they put them right back in … Cause why should our ranks go down if I you gt disconnected from the server…
