I want a NEW Halo game not a Collaboration of the previous Trilogy.

I’ve been reading alot of the posts reffering to the weapon sandbox mainly for Halo 4, And it seems that a vast majority of people only want previous weapons back rather than new ones? Why is this? If you played Halo 2 then played Halo 3 and found H3 to get boring pretty quickly is because Halo 3 is that game. It was Halo 2.5.

I mean the tactics were still the same it was still BR with Jumps and strafes with snipes and rockets on the side, just little more dumbed down in terms of pace from H2.

Am I the only one who wants a completely new sandbox? I personally Find enjoyment in adaptation, having to learn a completely new strategy in order to succeed.

Don’t get me wrong I’ve played all of the Halo games from Bungie and the sandboxes in H2 and CE were Epic but I want something new for my $60 ( £40 ) Please 343 start a new trilogy by making a new sandbox and tactics but still keeping it Halo-like. Halo won’t go anywhere if we hit Halo 6 still using the BR with a 3x scope maybe and 30 rounds instead of 36 just to be able to call it “new”.

The TU is proving that new weapons such as those in Reach can be added yet still preserving a Halo experience. So it can be done, more easily than you all may think.

Sign here if you want a new sandbox for Halo 4!

Also ,PLEASE can there be open minded discussions on this topic? No fanboyism please.

The reason we wanted the weapons from the old sandbox is because we know most of them work and sometimes they don’t such as the Halo Reach Focus Rifle and the Halo 3 Beam Rifle. The focus RIfle did a bad job as a sniper and was more suited for up close or DMR Range. But we do welcome new weapons such as a grenade launcher and Plasma Repeater. But if we know some weapons work like the BR and the Beam Rifle why change them And saying Halo 3 was Halo 2.5 Was the Stupidest thing I’ve heard.

Conclusion: Keep weapons that work but replace weapons that Don’t and Add weapons when a niche needs to be filled.

I’m buying halo to play halo, not some different game. If you like adapting, then you can play other console games that are different from halo.

Id be mad if they got rid of what worked well in past halo games, a CE like pistol, grenade launcher, stun PR from CE, Reach PP etc etc

they all worked great and should continue in new halo games. THe wise thing to do is keep what works great and add to it not continue to reinvent the wheel. If you want a new game unlike past halos then please go buy a new game. Halo should be halo, yes new wepaons are alway welcomed but the basics shouldnt change.

reach changed the basics and its the black sheep of the halo series

If the gameplay requires skill, its fast paced, simple and the guns look and feel great to shoot then whats the problem?

Depicting Reach as your example is biased because Reach was Bungie’s sell-out Halo.

Plus the Fact that the TU will achieve a Classic feel using the same weapons kinds of negates your whole arguement all together.

This. Completely agreed.

They probably won’t add TOO many new weapons, that would make people made because most people hate change.

I would want knew wepaons as long as they RESEMBLE the old ones…kinda like the br/dmr carbine/NR

If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

I’m sorry, but if Megaman 2 was an FPS and not a platformer, it wouldn’t have been a Megaman game.

The point of a game series is to make more games from a similar source of content. If they make an entirely different game, it’s no longer a Halo game.

The Staple, numbered, Halo games should always follow the general Halo gameplay style. But spinoffs like ODST, Wars, and even Reach have free reign to completely new gameplay.

Basically they should ADD a ton of new stuff. But don’t get rid of the series’ icons, like the Sword or AR.

you are wrong… i did not get bored of playing halo 3 after playing halo 2 are you nuts!?

reach is an abomination. halo 2 + 3 were perfect for multiplayer. The best games i have ever played.

I’m with you OP.
Halo 3 was the only game I had when I got my Xbox. After almost 1700 games played, I was bored. I borrowed Halo 2 from a friend and it was basically the same. Even I noticed Halo was the same for 10 years. But when Halo: Reach came, I fell in love with Halo again.
I want Halo 4 to be different than the last trilogy, but to have that core feeling that feels like Halo. And in my opinion, Halo: Reach delivered it.
After all, is the 10th Anniversary of Halo. It’s a new trilogy. Why would I wanted to be the same if I can just open the disc tray and insert Halo 3 or any other Halo game?
To finish it off: I’ll sign

  1. Why fix what isnt broken

  2. dont throw the baby out with the bath water

  3. If you are bored with halo by all means play another game, halo will be there when you realize those other game are gimmicks and dont have year after year replay value like halo does. People used to say halo was the good girlfriend you always come back to and other games you just have affairs with but your heart stays with halo.

I can accept change as long as they don’t cater to bad players.

Actually i never got bored of halo 3 until right before reach came out, same with halo 2. Im already bored of reach.

> I can accept change as long as they don’t cater to bad players.

This is where I’m coming from.

Thanks =p

I agree it should be a new series with completly new weapons that we would want back in halo 5. Just like Combat evolved did with 2 and 3 and reach. $ should play like a halo game but should feel like a new series no old weapons or vehicles.

I certainly want a new Halo game, but not a completely new sandbox. A base of weapons is good, like BR/AR/Pistol/Rockets/Snipes/Sword/Shottie. Add some others in. That’s completely fine, but don’t rip apart the sandbox that’s worked so well over the years.

> Actually i never got bored of halo 3 until right before reach came out, same with halo 2. Im already bored of reach.

Reach feels like a chore. Previous Halo’s actually felt fun.

> If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

This is what made Reach what it is.
