I used to lose with DIGNITY...

Halo 3 really taught me to be careful. It punished players for mistakes or too much “lone wolf” playing. Halo 4 flipped that pancake too fast. Every death now feels like it was not earned, but cheated. Through a power weapon or armor ability, every kill or death seems fake, or cheated. I go crazy after every death.

Do I need a psychiatrist, or is this game just that broken?

Lol you forgot bad spawns in the mix as well. I’ve never died within 5 to 10 seconds after spawning so much in a halo game before, also enemy teammates spawning behind you too.

It usually goes like this for me.

“Haha! I killed you!”

*someone spawns behind me"

“I killed you too!”

First guy that I killed spawns next to me and kills me while I have to reload.

x.x

Just as bad as the enemy team getting all the power weapons and getting spawn killed all game

Let’s not forget the ‘plasma grenades as last resort’ routine.

> Just as bad as the enemy team getting all the power weapons and getting spawn killed all game

At least they took the time to learn the map and didn’t need HUD indicators to guide them.

I didn’t say I like the HUD indicators

Nope you need a psychiatrist. You are simply being out played by superior opponents don’t try to say otherwise because that makes you look like a bad sport.

I don’t think you need a psychiatrist, but I don’t think the game is that broken, either.

I think that Halo 4 does have some rather cheap gameplay elements, as well as some elements that give too much of a reward for too small an expenditure of effort. Some of these elements even play major roles in a typical multiplayer match. However, (at least in my opinion) the game isn’t systemically broken, and – especially after 343i’s extensive tweaking and maintenance – there are plenty of gameplay elements that still involve some degree of skill.

Hey, now–

Thank you.

Infinity settings and instant respawns. Such a bad combo…

I agree with the OP here. Whenever I got the Ordnance “Power Boost” it felt like I put in some cheat code. That’s pretty wack for a Halo game to feature this nonsense. Infinity Slayer is absolutely terrible. It should have been canned.

Don’t you just love it when people sprint up to you and throw a plasma 'nade right in your face! Imagine how fun that will be for people that have the Resistor Armor Mod…

That’s going to suck.

He didn’t say they didn’t control the map better, either.

> Nope you need a psychiatrist. You are simply being out played by superior opponents don’t try to say otherwise because that makes you look like a bad sport.

These are not superior opponents. They are exploiting the game’s problems and using them to their advantage. Halo 4 is definitely not a fair game for anyone, but 343 is trying to improve the mistakes they made.

Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but are you one of those people who hopped onto Halo during the Reach era, or did you actually join during Halo 4?

Cause, if any of those are true, then I don’t think you know what true Halo is.

shootin sammy, join during the halo reach era. he stated so in an older thread when i asked him the same question, so i usually disreguard what he says when hes talking about H4. since he seems to think that killing your opponent retaining half shields then getting killed by said player because they instantly respawned behind you in your spawn area.

Now I must ask, is Team Throwdown too competitive?
Is Legendary Slayer not classic feeling enough (and if so, what way?)?
Are there ways you can’t use the options to tweak the gameplay to how you like it?

Complaining that every Halo gametype doesn’t play the same, and/or exactly like classic (which really has 2 variants thanks to CE and H2), doesn’t do Halo the option settings justice.

Nor does it recognise the additions that are liked due to the addition of those options.

From what I’ve gathered so far, some players don’t understand they’re doing just as well as they’ve always done in Halo. Which in some cases also means not as well. The methods to which a player looses has changed but the frequency has not.

POD’s in gametypes like CTF or Extraction should be ammo and heavyweapon based, no 1SK weapons, just heavyweapons, ‘nades powerups. It be super to have an “ammo” option that offered a drop of your for loadout weapons only. It doesn’t matter the weapon, either your battery is recharged to max. or your bullets are filled to max. by choosing ammo.
SWAT and Snipers could even use POD’s and remove the infinite ammo.
In SWAT, BR, DMR and Magnum ammo can be chosen (and the point level raised because map movement should have one already getting ammo from the enemy).
In Snipers we could earn ammo, a Beam Rifle and Damage Boost or OS’ in our POD’s while fighting over Binaries on the map. Again like SWAT, raise the point level to earn these POD’s.
Do we need POD’s in SWAT or Snipers? No but we don’t need infinite ammo either. Too much LW action and removal of map movement IMO. Without the need to shoot wisely in power positions we are left with supporting the death-charge mentality.

POD’s in Infinity Slayer itself, reduced and map specific POD’s would be nice. Less randomisation of the PW’s but not a complete removal. That’s because there’s Pro or Team Slayer mixed in the Slayer playlists and Throwdown exists for those that want to experience non-social settings/want the more competitive feeling beyond Slayer Pro/Team Slayer.

I do understand that we can have some crap spawning moments but what I’ve come to notice is that if I’m dying due to those crap enemy spawns, it’s because I’m LW’ing it and not running around with at least 1 other teammate. It’s also happening because my team is clearly on the offensive and are pushing themselves into ranges where they really don’t need to be because of the control already at hand.

What frustrates me about Infinity is the likelihood that my random PO will be outmatched by someone else’s random PO. If I get Needler, someone else will get Scattershot. If I get Scattershot, someone else will get Damage Boost. Etc. This is why I can’t bring myself to play Infinity gametypes. I stick with non-Fiesta Ordnance playlists like Team Doubles (Doubles Pro), Team Snipers, SWAT, Capture the Flag, Dominion, and Team Throwdown.

> Just as bad as the enemy team getting all the power weapons and getting spawn killed all game

Map control is and should be a vital part of every Halo game. If your team couldn’t gain any weapons and were pushed back to spawn, then you were outplayed.

Getting assists and spawning a sniper at your feet with an AC AA just ruins the game.

Ok, nm.

Yep. I love getting kills with the carbine. :stuck_out_tongue:

343 needs to fix this broken and boring game. Cause right now 343 is a joke of a halo
