Being forced to grind awful challenges such as, “get 5 killing sprees” or “end 5 sprees” in a mode I find truly awful is the opposite of fun.
I do not get why it’s such a fan favourite. Being spawned with a Plasma Pistol and Sentinel Beam on Launch Pad is worthless when the other team has snipers or rockets.
The mode is also highlighting how bad a lot of weapons are: Ravager, Pulse Carbine, Cindershot (in CQC), Plasma Pistol, Commando, Bulldog, Disrupter are all guaranteed deaths against a BR, AR, Sniper, Stalker, Rocket, Sword or Hammer. Add on the grenade spam and it’s a complete mess.
I’ve really enjoyed Infinite but if this event is more Fiesta then I’m just going to ignore it. I hate how miserable I am doing this.
I disagree whole heartedly. The plasma Pistol cam kill effectively and reliably against a multitude of weapons. Plus each of those guns you claim are bad against AR Sniper ect, just shows you need to adapt to each guns method of play to maximize your success. Or simply pick up another gun off the ground due to so many dead players. The cindershot especially is not weak in CQC it might be more effective due to how close the target is and you don’t need to lead or track the person for a longer time. I think you need to reevaluate why you aren’t performing well with those weapons every one spawns with random stuff just like you. Sometimes you get BR Sniper or Rockets Br Grapple and your set but sometimes you gotta kill someone and take their gun or find another weapon. Idk dude get better.
Ending sprees is a -Yoink!- challenge that’s -Yoink!-. But getting a killing spree isnt hard, 5 kills without dying. Ez with sniper, rockets, ar, sidekick, br, cindershot, sentinel, mangled, bulldog, sword, hammer, commando, stalker, heatwave, disruptor. And that’s more than half the guns in the game. Combine any of these or any that might need help killing directly with equipment and you have everything you need to succeed. Again, get better at the game before complaining about how guns are bad. You are bad. Simple
There are definitely balancing issues in Fiesta. For instance, even considering the plasma pistol or pulse carbine as viable. But also starting players with certain power weapon like rocket launchers or allowing there to be multiple hammers and swords in play while spawning other players with basic weapons. I just think there should be an algorithm to detect what weapons are on the field and who has them and spawn equivalent weapons.
IT’S FIESTA. There is not going to be balancing. It’s literally a random spawn weapon game type, as it has been for years. Dear sweet lord 9lb 3oz baby jesus. Complaining for complaining sake, eh?
The problem isn’t Fiesta, it’s working as intended.
The problem is having to do something other than having chaotic fun if you aren’t sold on the gameplay alone and like getting the shiny thing from the borderline idiotic event progression system.
Everyone’s mileage may vary, but I didn’t start having fun in Fiesta until I got that Yoroi armor core and went “yeah, that’s enough challenges for now.”
It’s just mindless chaos. It’s not supposed to be balanced. The challenge did give it a weird sense of intensity, but after I completed the weekly, I immediately just loosened up and didn’t take it as serious. And it’s a blast. Just my opinion.
I’m just hating it now because of all the challenges I have to go out of my way and do and it has become mind numbing. Also now I’m on the ultimate weekly to get 5 killing sprees in fiesta. Got a running riot just now and found out killing frenzy and running riot dont count. So gotta purposely give the enemy a kill and start again… truly hate how these challenges force you to play.
Fiesta is one of my favorite game modes, but i think that the weapons and maps dont mix well together (like getting long ranged weapons for close ranged maps), having the challenges focused on fiesta mode also ruins it a bit
However, having a skill based challenge in it was a silly idea. I grounded and finished it, and am having a lot more fun in Fiesta now that I’m not ‘trying’.
Yep. Sometimes you have -yoink- weapons… but it doesn’t take long to scavenge something a bit more effective.
And you don’t have to grind the challenges. At least the one’s I’ve had have been about winning games, headshots, and assists. These things just happen organically if you play normally.
Why do people go out of their way to make things a grind / chore.
Just play and enjoy. And no, it’s not my preferred type of game - but I have been using the games to explore the maps a bit more, try and get my head around using some of the more niche weapons, and using the equipment more effectively.
There is so much equipment to pick up. Last couple of games I was grapple shotting around the map like Mint Blitz (except for the racking up kills bit - that I need to work on).
Exactly. Half of these responders worshipping the gameplay won’t be here in 6 months. I’d wager my house on it. They honey moon over a half baked broken game with so many messes
