I thought they "adjusted" join in progress?

Didn’t they say they tweaked it? Because my last 3 games were two team regicide games in a row that were 4 or 5 kills from over and then a ctf game on ragnarok where my team was down a guy and the score when I joined was 4-0. This is so much worse than being down a guy or two in past Halos.

Team Regicide matches aren’t overall long. It gives the JIP that much more room for error to get you into matches that are near conclusion. I have experienced this early on when the playlist was first up.

But CTF matches usually are.

4 or 5 kills is nothing… You can still win the match easily.

  1. That depends entirely on how close it is.
  2. That’s entirely beside the point. The point is that I don’t want to join a game for 2 minutes of play time and the only way to avoid it in the next match is to stay with the same awful teammates.

I honestly think they should put some kind of time limit on the JIP. Like maybe you will only be put into matches that have been going on for 2/3 minutes or less.

Unless I’m in a party I always tend to get put in to half-played games on first search. I then get the option of sticking with the same players or joining another game in progress and hoping I get a better set of people.

The losing I don’t so much mind. It’s annoying, but trivial. My main concern with joining games in progress is when I get put into a lobby that’s laggy as eff. If I stick with it the rest of my team are leaving constantly, if I leave I get a loss on my record. Perhaps some sort of control measure where if x amount of people leave a lobby then no more people can join it - after all there’s sometimes a reason some people quit.

I got put into an oddball game that was 294 to 8. I was, of course, put on the losing team. I got 200 experience with double experience. Le sigh.

I’ve been thrown into an oddball game before where the enemy team had the ball, my team had 0, and it was about 4 seconds from over. I spawned and ran about 15 feet before the game ended. And obviously with a team that got exactly zero seconds of ball time I didn’t stay in the party.
