I think what'll be healthy for Infinite is a discussion council formed by players instead of 343 listening to the small handpicked few

As the title says.

The most recent blogpost update shows that 343 really just doesn’t care about the majority of the playerbase, while only listening to the whispers of the few. The few that, I might add, don’t contribute nearly as much as a wholistic community dedicated to an enriching, fun Halo experience.

It’s high time we are allowed to form an official discussion council formed by and represents the players to provide feedback and gameplay change suggestions to 343. I’ll not name drop here, but there have been many content creators, users, social media influencers who have had wonderful, workable ideas for Halo Infinite and these changes would have no doubt improve the gameplay. This is not simply ramblings on their part, but researched and thought out solutions based on older successful Halo titles as well as competing Shooters.

It utterly pains me that 343 decides to ignore the community in favor of the small percentage of players who more often than not alienate players than garner interest in picking up Halo to be part of a fun filled community.

If we had a discussion council which fields the views and experiences from players of all parts of the spectrum, we can find a good compromise toward sandbox and map balancing so that all players can enjoy the game regardless of skill level.

PS: yes, the small percentage are the Pros/Competitive lot who have created the Mangler controversy. Also, just turn Collision back on ffs.

Jokes aside, it should be seriously considered. Warframe has their own design council which they debate and suggest changes which the Devs do read. That’s how that game still thrives under the guidance of not only the Devs, Community managers but also the community themselves.

When a game is built for the community and not just a minority, more people enjoy the game. Sure there are definitely some upset parties, but if those upset are in the minority, then who cares? Games are propped up by a healthy balance of accessibility from both casual and hardcore players while trying to alienate as little people as possible.

This is one of the main reason why Heroes of the Storm failed, because it focuses too much on external factors and “a good team” to play, something you don’t find in casual playmodes. And HotS went on and failed because not even their Esports scene could garner enough interest in a game where the majority of the players just have a really really bad time!

Trying to appease your pros and competitives while letting your casual base rot is building a billion dollar installation on rotten foundations. It’ll all come crashing down in a really expensive fail.

Lol literally all 343 needs to do is hire like 3 or 4 people to watch youtube videos all day and share what they saw.

Theyre so out of touch.

343 could easily collect a lot of user data by offering in-game surveys.

You know, while we are waiting for a match.

It would only have to be a few MCQ questions and/or scores out of 5. Allowing us to vote on maps, weapons, equipment, game types, and combinations thereof.

Over the course of a Season they could literally collect millions of data points. Right from the fans in the heat of the moment.

I’m honestly surprised how 343 is so arrogant that they don’t do a survey every month to see what players want or want fixed. So many good live service does this every month or 2 months in order to keep the service going.

As many popular creators have said : Halo Infinite is the live service without the service.
And I’m seeing how long it’ll take before Halo Infinite loses the live part as well.

It’s all about making it appear like the consumer or people actually have a choice in the matter. But the reality is: if your feedback doesn’t fit the agenda, it will just be ignored, no matter how “important” the feedback may be.

Then becomes the problem about who gets to join this council and then people not on it get upset that they’re not being heard. It just won’t work.

Great idea.
I don’t see 343 doing this. It makes too much sense.
The studio has made it clear that they don’t care about what the lifelong fans want. They are trying to get the fans money while appealing to the “broader” audience. It’s the same thing Paramount is doing with the show.
I don’t know much about the pro players, or e-celebs, but I’d imagine once a new big shooter comes out that takes the gaming community by storm, all that will be left supporting this game will be the fans that stuck around and maybe e-celebs focused on Halo. What would have happened to Halo if the recent COD or BF games had been amazing? It feels like Infinite is on borrowed time.
