Okay, let’s get started…
As you may know, Halo has been starting to weigh more on to the Casual side in balance. Now before you start thinking on pressing the Halo 4 tab, read the rest, please.
Now, I think I’ve cracked what 343 and Microsoft, might be doing. Casuals seem to engulf our population faster and faster. Scorning the competitives. 343 then releases the thing that most competitives hate.
Casual gameplay.
So far that is what I know, I’m basing this on what I’ve seen so far. Anyway, This obviously will attract most casuals. Call of Duty, (It’s grieving to mention that name in my post…) attracts many, many customers. I think most of you know where I’m going with this…
Although…
There is still the matter of the competitives. If the game is casual, that will outcome in a huge decrease in the competitives. Even though, (Basing this on the sales number for CoD and other Casual Games.) there is more Casuals then Competitives, The percentage is too great to lose most of the competitives. So what do they plan to do?
Trick the Casuals.
Probably at this moment, most Casuals think the whole game is going to be a casual game. This may not be the case. What 343 might be planning on making the game, “Look” Casual. What I propose they’ll do, is win over the casuals, with all this casual hype. When in reality, The game is competitive. Now I’m not saying literally trick them. What I propose is that, The nucleus of Halo 4 will be Competitive, when the cytoplasm is Casual. I call this the Multi-Player Cell. Casual will not be the core of the Cell, it’ll be something like an “Addition” to attract casuals and make more money. The competitive is there, and Casual is building around it. So when an a competitive plays the game, they’ll be fine not bothering the small casual side, while a casual plays in happiness not bothering with the nucleus-competitive part of Halo 4.
Now I know it’s impossible to satisfy the whole population. But this might be their plan. If it is, it may work. If it isn’t, their way might work too.
It’s too early to tell.
