So Halo 5 still hasn’t come out yet, but alas, I am looking towards the future… I can’t wait to play through Halo 5’s campaign, but for me, the worst part of every Halo game is beating it and then having to wait 2 or so years until the next chapter. I know that there are books, comics, and other media to help fill the time, but I am terrible at pacing myself and usually gobble these up as soon as they are released. Despite this, I feel that, while although awesome, the Halo extended universe doesn’t have crazy ramifications on the games. Anyway, to get to my main point, I think Halo 5 having campaign DLC would be extremely beneficial and awesome. We are getting all the multiplayer DLC for free so I see no harm in 343 releasing story DLC for 10 bucks here, or 20 bucks there. One thing I really like about Halo 5 is that it is changing so much in a good way. I think that Halo 5 would be a great time in the series for its first batch of story DLC. I also wouldn’t mind something along the lines of ODST. As I’m sure many of you know, ODST was originally going to be DLC for Halo 3. What if Halo 5 was also given this treatment? One thing burning its way through the forums is the notion that Blue Team only has 3 missions. Story DLC could easily rectify this.
I know that I will probably be getting a lot of comments like “jeeze, the game isn’t even out yet and you want more?!” I just want to clarify that I think this would simply be a good idea for 343 to implement. I’m psyched for Halo 5. I can’t wait to play the campaign as it is going to be the longest yet. I just don’t want it to end and I don’t think I’m alone in that. So what does everyone think? Story DLC, yay or nay? Would you pay for it? What would you want it to be? A continuation of Blue Team/ Osiris? Perhaps Arbiter, Usze, N’tho, and a new elite? Fireteam Majestic DLC? CRIMSON DLC? ODST 2?! A WHOLE NEW STORY?! The possibilities are literally endless.
It would be cool if they added a elite campaign as a dlc (like $5) to see if it does well. If so then they should make an elite stand alone game starting from Reach, following Arbiter.
That whole blue team only having 3 missions thing isnt exactly true. it only lists the team you start as in a given mission. There are more Osiris starts in missions, but that doesnt mean that those are all Osiris only missions.

I couldn’t agree more. however, I literally just read an article saying they don’t have plans to make any.

That would be cool. Especially playing as the Arbiter

Yeah I think this would be a great idea, because in a way, it would satisfy the lust people have for playing as an Elite. And the Arbiter is just such an amazing character. Do you remember those early rumors where the Halo 5 campaign would be played as Master Chief, Locke, AND the Arbiter? I want that, like I said in my initial post, an Elite team comprised of Arbiter, Usze, N’tho, and perhaps the Shipmaster or the new female elite in the upcoming book. Hmm… one thing I just thought of, I wonder what the new book is relate too… Because if you think about it, Broken Circle was supposed to relate to Halo 2, New Blood = how Buck came to be a Spartan, Hunters in the Dark = introduction to Olympia Vale, and Last Light was a story featuring Blue Team. Anyway, I’m probably looking too far into this, but I wonder what Shadow of Intent relates too. A campaign featuring Elites… I hope… lol

Limit new things to one disk? What do you mean? Also being like Destiny wouldn’t be a bad thing. Destiny has great ideas, they are just executed very poorly. Also the difference here is that Destiny shipped with no story and now they adding to it. Halo 5 is going to ship with a full-fledged campaign. It would just be nice if they decided to add a little more.
I think it would be pretty cool, and I don’t want to read into it too much, but the title is Halo 5: Guardians. I know that part of it is that they want to move away from numbered Halo’s after 6, but perhaps part of it is that they may release other Halo 5:_______ content.
I’d also settle for some sort of refined Spartan Ops campaign. I thought that the idea for it was fantastic, but the execution left a little to be desired. The cutscenes were great, and the fact that it was episodic kept me interested and engaged. It would be nice to actually get multiple seasons right up to the launch of a new game. Things they’d need to fix would be non-repetitive environments, and coop connection. Who knows, maybe we could see some other cool features implemented in Spartan Ops 2.0, like the REQ cards, or orders or revive, or even the ability to design your own custom A.I Spartan Fireteam. I know I never really felt like Fireteam Crimson when I played Spartan Ops on Halo 4 by myself, it was more like Lone Wolf Crimson.

You play as the respective team the whole way through, no switching.

When did 343 say that? I really hope that what you say is unofficial since I like blue team a lot more than Osiris.
