Last night I was playing team arena, and I played with or against the same people several times in a row. I was playing solo, and noticed the same names cropping up over and over again. I played team slayer then warzone for a while, went back to arena a couple of hours later. Long wait time for a game, and then I recognised some familiar names again!
I know we’re on EU servers now, but surely there’s more than 8 people playing Halo at 2am in Europe?
With such limited playlists, people get bored easier. I for one cannot play for more then a couple hours; maybe 30-45 minutes solo. Some think that with more playlists will come lower populations in each one, but I tend to disagree.

Yeah I know what you’re saying. If people don’t get what they want from a game, then they’ll move on to something more fun.

In h5s current state I think It’d attract more people to play it if we had more options. If h5 was say 100k online at a given time, then yes, population would be split up if we had 20+ playlists. It just depends on many things but in h5s case I think it’d help more than hurt it.
I’m not sure if its population related but there is something definitely amiss with the matching of players across all playlists.
As an example, I was matched with MrVilliams (who also posts on here and sent me a message during game) 5 or 6 times in a row in BTB on Sunday afternoon. It is also worth noting that this was prime time on a weekend and not during anti-social hours so to be matched repeatedly with the same players over and over again tells me something is definitely broken.
This rarely happens to me, but I’m an Ameriburger. Leaving the lobby for 2 minutes then re-queueing usually fixes it for me.

Same for me here in Germany. I think the matchmaking goes just the easiest way and pairs you up with those you played last time since those probably start a new search about the same time as you do yourself (often instantly). So by waiting one cycle of “searching players” (about 30secs), those players get matched up and are in a game, therefore unable to get grouped together with you again. Then it’s pretty much guaranteed to play with a completely new bunch of players.
Has been working for me too so far.

Limiting the players options is usually asking for player contempt.
Gamers these days are used to being told “yes” by other successful titles. Halo fans are unfortunate enough to be told “no” almost every time.
They need to let the entire xbox community know, somehow, that their is all the new stuff. Mix of all updates in a vid with hammerstorm getting special recognition at the end. THE WORD FREE EVERY 30 SECS WOULD HELP.
then, 1000 000 of the 4000 000 people who got the game will return
