I think the matchmaking is a tad broken

Reason is: I haven’t had the chance too play Halo 5 in months and after finally getting back to it naturally I’m doing awful, but for some reason the matchmaking keeps pairing me up with players of way higher skill caliber than I am so I keep losing, but the game never lowers down the skill level of players when it matchmakes for a different game. Is this a bug or does it involve where my standing was in the last season?

Partly from last season. It takes several matches, I do not know how many for the matchmaking to readjust, I was getting killed in matches because I was pairing with some of the champs in my spartan company, but I have stopped, and I continued to get Onyx/Diamond opponents for several more matches, until the system realized I am not that dedicated. Since the matchmaking update my matches have been fairer. I also try to match during peak hours, when I feel the pool is larger.

If this is true, then it’s really not working for me. I’m in the same exact boat as the OP. I’m in college and don’t generally get to play a lot during the semester, so before last week, I hadn’t played in about 2 months. I haven’t played consistently since the summer. In August I was ranked Onyx in Arena, but obviously barely being able to play the past 6+ months has taken a hit on my skill, but I’ve played over 65 matches in Team Arena alone and am still being matched with Diamond players even though I’ve been low Platinum (just got back up to Plat 3 last night). I am starting to shake the rust off again and get sort of back to where I used to be because last night was by far the best night I’ve had in a while, but still, I’m being matched up with people significantly above my current level of skill.

This is good feedback for zaedynfel he can explain why this is happening. He is looking for feedback on matchmaking in the matchmaking forum. The post is HERE.

Oh, thanks for clarifying that guys!
