I think it's safe to say Halo 4 is dead.

Spartan ops 1.5 comes out and the population hits an all time low.

so what ? i don’t care about that.

Im still finding matches really fast so i disagree, also side note, numbers really dont mean that much. This weekly numbers update is getting irritating by the way

I cant believe I’m saying this myself…

were not going to see if this changes anything until the weekend at the very least. Also, I doubt anything big will happen until the TU…

I disagree

It does matter eventually. I’m not that focused on it now, but for a main title (specifically xbox’s main title) to dropping this rapidly within 2 & a half months of release is a horrific sign.

Nothing is ever truly dead.

But 343 better respond to their community.

less n00bs = better Teamplay = better Halo

i´m not that sharpshooter either but some even don´t know what teamplay is.

so when they go back to cod or something else, thats great for the game

the hard core will stay and play

most of the hardcore skilled players have left because this game is unbalanced and caters to noobs. your argument is backwards

there is no reason to win and no reason not to quit anymore. that is why people don’t use mic’s ever. no rank, and you get the same reward for losing as you do for winning.

so you post it now when the day is yet to be over and its till early there still plenty of time for the numbers to increase today and match that of the day before or whatever? your point is invalid until tomorrow.

Lets ignore the 85k - 90k that’s been playing at peak time for the past 2 weeks, and focus entirely on the 551 (that would have pushed the numbers to 80K) that didn’t feel like playing at peak on a Tuesday night.

don´t care about XP or Ranks ther where Times no Game had any Ranks(UT 4 ex) People just played them, seems to be over =)

there is a ban if you quit out of a game too many times. and people dont use the ingame chat any more since there is a thing called partychat.

Dead? what are you talking about? there are still plenty of player playing the game, it’s not dead until the servers shuts down

I remember similar threads popping up in the Bungie Forums about Reach and even that game is still very much alive and I still have no problem finding matches in Reach, so what is the dead thing about

Only in the messed up world of the internet, can 80,000 - 100,000 people playing a game mean it’s dead. LOL

It’s like those people in IGN that think any game that gets any score below a 9.5, means the game is garbage, and not worth playing.

^^sad but true

You do know that the halocharts thing doesn’t track Spartan Ops users…right?

The decrease (in the early hours of a wednesday, mind you) could be due to the fact that people are playing SpOps instead.

This argument, and all others like it, is invalid. Stop it.

even without rank, if the game was balanced and fun, there would be more to fight for in a match. for example, playing infinity slayer, there is nothing to fight over any more. you see and enemy and you shoot, thats about it.

in all previous halo’s (except for reach in the map department) there was more to fight for than just killing other people. you needed to hold down locations on the map that gave your team an advantage. you needed to position yourself and/or your team towards power wewapon/powerup spawn locations to give yourself the edge. sometimes it was more important to let an enemy you spot move by you so you could make your way to the power weapons. all of these layers have been stripped out and we are left with the shell.

even in social slayer in halo 3 there were still good battles over vehicles, weapons, powerups, and choke points. now people just roam around and shoot each other with dmr’s and boltshots. all of the depth is gone, and the population is going too…

i’m not saying i want halo 3.5, but i want a game that works and that has a competitive feel built right in, instead of roaming around aimlessly.

the only depth in the game currently is positioning yourself near corners so you can avoid enemy dmr fire across the map and hide and boltshot when they get close.

It also doesn’t track people in Customs, Forge, Theater, Campaign, and the Main Menu.

HaloCharts shows the PEAK of how many people who are currently in a match in War Games Matchmaking. It doesn’t show the total population.

EDIT: Millions of people play this game every week, and possible every day, too.
