Definitely, and something I wish that would’ve happened is that MS and 343 would’ve made the show under some Xbox Production Studios instead of Showtime.

There is a history of them attempting to make a Halo TV show in the past, maybe they did, but the cost of production can only be supported by Showtime?

Which is a shame, and this may just be me, but I’d honestly prefer it being CG, with Blur or Axis over live action.
It would be nice to have live action parts though, not going to lie, but I just do not see how they could be successful by doing primarily CGI with some live action.

If all the leaks and casting rumors are true, it’s not canon whether they say it is or not. Based on things I’ve heard, Cortana shows up in the universe years earlier than normal violating the 7 year smart AI rule and Captain Keyes and Miranda will be a different race. For the record, no problem with that casting if it’s outside canon but you can’t just change a character’s race and claim it all exists in the same universe.

There is absolutely zero chance this is canceled or rebuilt now that Paramount has started advertising it as a featured show for their service. Production is underway and it’s been delayed so many times already, we’re getting what they’re making right now.

Yeah, it seems like the show won’t actually be part of the canon, just it’s own thing, like other movie and TV adaptations of video games.

In the recent canon fodder, in terms those portraying Chief, they said this about Pablo Schreiber, “The newest member of Club 117, Pablo Schreiber will be donning the Master mantle in Showtime’s upcoming adaptation for the Halo television series on Paramount+.” The use of the word “adaptation” to me seems to indicate that the show WON’T be canon.
Bro i’m black and I feel like this race swapping is kinda foolish. Even if they are great actors who would fit the role well, just make new characters. Keyes is a childhood icon of mine, and he’s not black. It’d be the same as making Master Chief a woman and Cortana an alien. It just makes the show less enjoyable for people who do love the pre-determined story of Halo.
Making a show about well-established characters means you should most definetly follow the canon. If you don’t then what’s the point of following established characters? They could’ve made an amazing Halo TV story with new characters and unheard of Spartans. Even if it is non-canon, hopefully the story will be decent enough to be liked.

I hope so. I hate pulling this card but if they change alot of the pre-established lore, I probably just will ignore it in my head. Changing the canon is a good way to upset fans and it’s one of the reasons why Reach wasn’t liked by a slice of the community.

Definitely, and man it sucks. Really wish they had made a show that respected and could exist in the canon. Even with this show not being canon, I’m still not very confident in it. Such a shame.
