IN H3, power weapons and vehicles were out in the open. People couldnt camp them, because they would die.
In halo reach, power weapons/vehicles are more indiscrete, hiding behind walls or out of another teams line of sight.
This allows teammates to camp them, often casuign betrayals, and loses because we dont have people helping.
What do you think?
Personally, I think that not only applies to power weapons, but to Reach’s maps in general.
I find they have much narrower lines of sight, and are just cluttered with stuff to use as cover. Whereas IMO, the best Halo maps are very open, and/or have long lines of sight.
Halo 3’s maps flowed more smoothly and naturally. One of the assets of using Forerunner and Covenant designs; very few sharp corners. Whereas certain human maps (Countdown, Sword Base) have corners everywhere, and little places to hide.
yea. exactly.
The DMR is essentially a long range weapon, cross mapping is relatively easy and effective with multiple people.
It’s kinda funny, because I remember the H3 forums quite well, and there were similar complaints about H3 maps when compared to H2. H2’s maps were put on a pedestal. Now? H3 is the gold standard? It’s kinda funny. I think it’s just the cycle of games in a series. It will be interesting to see how people talk about Reach when H4 drops.

Not having Armor Abilities is lame, the battle rifle is terrible the DMR is awesome and we want credits back 1-50 is lame.

Sounds exactly as I imagined it.

Lol
Armor lock was actually pretty good and we want our jet packs back xD
The sniper rifle should have a secondary function to make the user invisible;)

Could you give us an example of this? Such as comparing a Reach map to a Halo 3 map, power weapon wise to prove your point.

Amen, i’d put money on the forums sounding exactly like that.

Unfortunately I don’t think this cycle will ever stop. Funny as hell in hindsight though. XD

Hindsight is always 20/20.

No it wont stop, as people become more and more computer friendly this cycle can only get worse. It is funny though.

Aye. On the pit, the rocket launcher was uncampable. it was out in the open and if you camped it…you were going to die. inevitably.
on halo reach im afraid im not so familiar with the rocket launcher spawns. But i believe that the one at boneyard is pretty campable. oh and at highlands, i think there is one.
And the sniper spawns. The snipers at boneyard both spawn behind a wall. same with hemorrhage. People just sit behhind those walls and kill each other waiting for the sniper.
Maps like lockout and sandtrap in halo 3 have sniper spawns that arent really behind walls. People cant really sit around and wait for them to spawn because it leaves them out in the open.

On The Pit, the rocket launcher was located in the middle of a small hallway. On Powerhouse in Reach, the rockets are located down a small corridor. They’re literally almost in the same situation, except on Powerhouse there are upper crosswalks to give an advantage to people who don’t have rockets, whereas in The Pit, there was no place to go; death was inevitable.
All of the power weapons in Halo 3 and Reach are “campable” in your terms. On Select, the rockets are out in the open, for example. All the power weapons are equal to each team. If you don’t have a good example, your argument is invalid.
