I think H5 Needs the social playlist. Hear me out

Now before you ask no I wouldn’t be the one in the social playlist. I love competitive way to much for that. The reason I am saying this however is because and yes I know i’m going to get slack for saying this. I t would be more like H3 where you had the ranked playlist and the social playlist. Though it would be tougher to do I think it would help competitive gamers for this reason

  1. better players would be matched into games
  2. may help to cut back on quitters since theoretically the only people in competitive should be people who care about there rank
  3. offers a way for people to screw around.
On this last one i mean this as sometimes its just fun to go into btb and just screw around in vehicles but if your in a rank then all your doing is trying to win o this is a way to be like yea I love competitive but I kind of just want to chill. then you have these chill ways.
Now i’m expecting to get slack for this post as is the way it goes with anything. i’m not even saying this would work, what i’m saying is it may be something that would benifit all people in the halo community.

I won’t hear you out but I will read you out.

I think most people want a social playlist.

I like the way you think good sir

You’ll get no slack from me. I’d love to see something social.

i’m indifferent since I love competitive I just think it could potentially benefit a lot of people. Also help keep the community here longer.

I too enjoy a good pub stomp.

I use to play ranked in the old yonder days of Halo 3, but now I like laying back and screwing around without having to worry about winning or rank, just like you said. If a social playlist ever comes to Halo 5, you’ll find me there

And thats what I mean. Competitive is great but sometimes its just fun to screw around. Some of my best memories are from screwing around on BTB

It just might bring people on my friends list back to Halo, no one I play with or know is on H5 anymore they’ve all moved on to other games.

We can have both. It doesn’t doesn’t have to be an “either/or”, it can be an “and”.

I couldn’t agree more with you

Yea same here I have a few friends who aren’t big into competitive but would love for it to be social.

I agree. Not a huge selection, so we aren’t separating the community, but an action sack playlist that has tons of fun game types for when you want to goof off and not worry about ranks.

Just to bring this up since another thread similar to this made a valid point:

Stats must not be tracked in social.

If stats are present in social, both competitive and social playlists will be no different from one another. It’ll tempt the really sweaty try-hards (you all have encountered them at least once, I’m sure) into playing social just to farm easy kills and wins. No stat tracking = no tryhard farming.

I can agree with this or set up a different stats system like heres how many kills you have in competitive and how many you have in social kind of like how it is now.

That could possibly work. Only thing I would be scared of would be those who would try to boost their K/D high in social. Sure, it wouldn’t be regarded the same as a competitive K/D ratio but there would still be those people out there.

Yeah, you’d think a dev as big as 343 would understand the importance of casual gamers but apparently not. It makes no sense to me.

yeah social would be good

Kudos for 343i trying to make Halo competitive again, and I really mean that. They were just trying to make Halo relevant again in the competitive environment of gaming.

However I think they went overboard with it, almost to the point that it’s being shoved down our throats.
