My issue with duel wielding is it seems to make the weapon by itself useless in most cases.
Good because it’s probably not going to have it.

The reason duel wielding was even useful in the first place was because a duel wield-able weapon on its own was awful, in h5, guns like the pistol and smg kill in less than or around 1.1 seconds, the old smgs killed in almost 2 seconds, meaning that 2 of them would kill in 1 second, so essentially, we’d be trading grenades for two guns that have the same power as one gun, when we could just have one powerful gun and keep grenades. It’s a pointless trade off that adds no depth, and I don’t think it should return.
I feel like it wouldnt ruin it, but it sure would be interesting
It’s the innovation that makes it cool. People want it to be more realistic. I loved dual wielding a plasma pistol & magnum. I won’t be angry if they add it back in.
Now you’ve prompted me to think about it, I agree. DW traditionally denies you abilities like grenade and melee. If you can’t melee or sprint while dual wielding, then you effectively close off a good proportion of the SA’s leaving you defenceless to your superior foes. And if you change it so that you can do all that stuff, then everyone will complain about it being “OP and spawn of CoD and not Halo and it kills babies!!!”
The farthest dual-wielding should go is the SMG coming in pairs but still functioning as a single weapon, meaning you still get melee and grenades while looking like the badass people like to think they are.

Actually, I’m pretty sure that dual-wielding 2 of the same weapon doesn’t do 2x damage as much damage as holding 1 of that weapon, more like 1.5x as much, making duel-wielding even more pointless.
It didn’t ruin Halo 2 or 3 at all. And this thread is done

Thats why people liked br starts
=3
Dual Weilding could be interesting to see in campaign. Maybe against new hypothetical stronger enemies or something… I don’t think it should be in multiplayer though

yeah, campaigns fine, but multiplayer, it makes it unfair with ar/ smg starts
