I just think it would have been so much more powerful an ending if he had died. When I beat 3 for the first time, on Heroic, I though he had. Yes, I was sad, but I the emotional response that the game earned from me was amazing. I dwelled on it for days. Until I beat it Legendary, and I thought, “Well that just ruins it.” So impressed when I thought they killed him off.
What do you guys think? Am I alone here?
I don’t support you because I think that when Chief got taken into a bright blue light at the end, it gave you the idea that something far more sinister is after all the life in the galaxy now and made me think that Chief’s adventure isn’t over yet, kinda like CE’s. If you read some of the books, it really makes you excited for Halo 4, making you wonder…( Read this at your own risk) Where has Dr.Halsey gone, will this new adventure answer our question on her true intentions and whereabouts?
Well obviously parts of the story would have changed in the “Chief died” ending. I would of had him die making sure Arbiter and Cortana got away alive. Sacrifice. To me, it’s what the Spartans are all about. They continually make sacrifices their entire lives to make sure humanity keeps going. It just seems weird to me that the be all end all Spartan doesn’t sacrifics himeself in the end. I’m kind of hoping at the end of, or maybe the middle of cause that would be some crazy sh*t, Chief will ending up going out in a blaze of glory.
That’s just me though, and I am only one of millions.
There are couple of Spartans still alive if I recall correctly. Linda, Will, and Fred are supposedly on Earth still. An Dr. Halsey has one with her. If Halo ends, I want it to end with Chief’s death as the last Spartan.
