I Thank 343 For This Game

I honestly really like how Halo 5 looks. It looks much more competitive, faster pasted, and generally a good time.
The new gamemodes really help too.

Giving praise on a promise is not a good thing to do.

Guess we’ll soon find out if it deserves the praise.

This game does look like the most competitive Halo game yet I’m interested to see how this will play out

Praising halo 4 worked out so well before launch…

Your point? 2, 3, and Reach were all praised before launch, and they all have great to fantastic multiplayers.

Each of them received large amounts of critique after release, and many people would argue that each was worse than the previous. There has never been a time in the history of Halo where the next one would have been almost unanimously considered better than the previous one.

Yeah, but at the end of the day, people still say that they all had solid multiplayers. Many people still, to this day, over two years since 4’s release and multiple patches ridicule 4’s multiplayer and call it the worst multiplayer in any Halo, ever. That’s the difference - the large majority of Halo fans think that 2, 3, and Reach’s multiplayer were, at the very least, decent. The same cannot be said for 4.

Same as bashing a game before it is played.

Unless there is constructive criticism. We have seen +30 videos of the game, it is perfectly logical to express disdain for some of the mechanics and features from it.

Not at all. The former is setting yourself up for failure.

As far as I know, there is still a large amount of players who think Reach was far from solid. When it comes to Halo 2 and 3, there simply aren’t enough people left here to tell you how much problems they had. The people who thought Halo 2 was absolute junk when it released most likely still think it’s absolute junk. The only reason you don’t see them is that if they thought Halo 2 was really bad, they probably didn’t manage to suffer through the following games. They aren’t here to tell their opinion. What you can hear nowadays are the filtered opinions of people who thought these games were good enough. All the ā€œHalo 2 sucksā€, ā€œHalo 3 sucksā€, ā€œHalo Reach sucksā€ statements are slowly forgotten because the people who hold those opinions aren’t around to tell them.

The reality of it is, there will be a day when the large majority of fans still around will say Halo 4 was at least decent. Old fans leave, new fans come, and the popular opinion changes. That’s how it goes, and that’s the only reason you see almost no one criticizing Halo 2 or 3.

I also really like what we’ve seen so far, and can’t wait to get my hands on it and get an actual opinion
