Bottom line, the ranks have been in the game for 4 days now. Not nearly enough time for it to balance out.
It isn’t that easy to be a rank 50. Grinding will get you there early, but when the rest of matchmaking catches up to you, you won’t keep that rank unless you’re actually good enough to have it.
We have had nearly no experience with this ranking system. I don’t think it’s likely, but it could be the best one in any Halo game yet, but we have no way of knowing. It’s not possible to make judgements like this yet.
Give it time, people. Be patient. It will get there, but in the meantime, calm down.
When Halo 3 first came out the first several level 50s only made it there because they played a lot. I’ll be -Yoink!- if most of them didn’t bump down to at lest 45-40 whenever they played on their 50 playlists.
When Halo 2 first came out there were a lot of higher ranks before the first reset too. After the reset it became almost impossible for the average player to get above 25 or 30.
The truth is, for the last 2 and a half years we’ve gone without ANY competitive ranks for the community to work towards just be happy we actually have one now, and stop whining about the inconveniences.
@Fos - I couldn’t agree more. People seem to forget that most of the problems surrounding CSR (besides them not being in game) were also present in Halo 2 + 3.
Then how on earth can I play 10 games of castle DLC and be stuck at 1. Or play action sack and do twice as good as a friend that I’m playing with (for the exact same amount of games) and he ends up with a 23 and I’ve got a 19.
Actually I don’t know what to think about it. Your point made me look at very different, however I just don’t understand how it works, I’ve been playing all morning, I lost like 2-3 matches, however, in all of them overall I’ve been top player and since then, my rank now is 36 (being 33 when I started playing) so I don’t really see how this system works.

That’s what most people are complaining. The H2/H3 ranks were like this at the beginning, of course after years people noticed how it worked awesomely, but even at the beginning they weren’t at their potential just because they were new-released. Like the CSR. I’ll give the CSR 2 weeks, and THEN I’ll analyze it like it should.
Btw, Its -Yoinking!- hard to level up in competitive playlist, anyone who thinks is easy, probably is playing Flood. (Like me, ROAD TO THE FLOOD 50!!!)
well if it is going to take 2-3 weeks for CSR to shake out and give us a “true” picture, then why cant 343 say that, how hard would that be … the bullentin on 4-3-13 said " it would be out 4-8-13", it didn’t say anything about, “but it will take another 2-3 weeks to get it to work” … its no wonder people are saying WTF because trying to figure out how it works is a nightmare …
