Oh yeah. I forgor about that.
Yeah it would’ve been nice to be a writer for Infinite. I would have come up with a few DLC mini-campaigns and maybe a novel or two.
Like seriously, if each DLC is charged at $10 apiece and each novel about $15-20, the amount of income within a fiscal year to be made up from these potentials I had come up with would probably net Microsoft with…
…
…
…
roughly $70 Million total profits from each of these endeavors combined. That is two novels and 7 mini-DLC campaigns.

Alas almost 24 hours and I haven’t got a one I am sad I summon @Comedic_Hermit to say hi so I can say I got one can always be confident hes somewhere on here
(Basically my blue eyes white dragon or 1st edition charizard type of summons)
Poor choice should have gone for the squirtle

As for infinite; I’m pretty happy with it. Campaign was excellent and hopefully the dlc continues that. I’ve done doll hunting, legendary runs, 9 or 10 completions, found the sandwich all without looking it up. The story picked up the emotional beats really well (though I think they leaned a bit too hard into forgiving Cortana for genocide, but this is a series where they kidnapped, experimented on, and brainwashed child soldiers to kill political dissidents so …)
I like the actual gameplay more than I did prior to release. Wouldn’t mind a bigger radar and a few more weapons for variety. Melee weapons are a bit overpowered, Plasma pistol needs either the stun or the emp back to make it relevant. I hated the phone blanker prerelease, but I’ve come to like it post release. Would love for action sack to come back or some version of husky raid added to fiesta. A few more maps would be nice and launch site being deleted would make me happy
The pistol glitch needs fixed. I saw some pretty heavy desynch stuff, but haven’t had much time to play since the geofilter fix went in to see how much that helped.
I don’t care that much about the challenges or the store (I’ve got odst and the superintendent and whenever the load the opi skin I’ll be sparkly purple) the couple things I’ve liked in the store have been more than I was willing to pay so I didn’t bother. But the odst helm or it’s variants are usually the only cosmetics I’m interested in. I wouldn’t mind some weapons skins more in keeping with my tastes (there was one, but I’m not playing paintball/attrition for anything)
I look forward to the forge drop. The community always comes up with amazing, fun customs games. Not sure if I’ll restart the waypoint custom nights when that happens or not. They’ve been on hiatus for quite a while now.

It’s a fair question. And yeah I may be late to the party here (busy with work lately) but I’ll share my thoughts:
Overall, I’m satisfied with what we have as the foundation. The core gameplay loop is the best we’ve had in the series. It feels like a true sequel to Halo 3 without branching off too crazily away like Reach, 4, and to a lesser degree, 5.
The campaign is actually my favorite in the entire franchise. Not without flaws, of course, but man do I love it. I feel like the amazing nods to previous games and other media made it so a long-time fan like myself had a lot to enjoy. I would’ve liked more biomes, but it doesn’t really hinder the experience for me. When Halo Wars 2 came out all I could think of was how I wanted to fight the Banished in an FPS game. I was satisfied, haha. We will see there the Endless arc takes us. I’m old school… I like the Flood. I want to see them return, but I am willing to see where the current story leads us.
Now for my qualms with the game:
-
Desync. This is my biggest gripe. It is the issue that, when present, makes the game feel like a beta. Given the stellar gameplay of Infinite and how much this hinders it, it needs to be fixed ASAP.

Content. We’re seeing this a ton lately on all forums so this isn’t new. But there’s really no way around it. We are in a drought right now and what’s worse is that we are also in what seems to be a period of quiet with 343. I feel like communication has dipped off too much and we don’t really know what’s going on. I’d like to see that changed. This is a live service game but apart from a daily/weekly store rotation, what’s live service about this? We need a roadmap to see what live service means for Halo and also so we can, as a fanbase, have realistic expectations for the next decade.
Trust me, I’m with the community on a majority of issues. After all, I am literally no different than anyone else here, I can just lock threads. Sure, I feel like people can be quite unrealistic and at times disingenuous with their gripes and expectations, but still. I see why there’s a ton of people having issues.
Tl;dr, I like it, could be better. And I hope it gets there sooner rather than later.

Lol if I’m bringing in a perspective comparing Infinite to Halo Wars, Infinite is coming along much better than HW2.
But anyways, I’m really enjoying Infinite. The bones of the game are great. The combat loop, art style, overall mechanics are just fun and crisp.
The only caveat I have is the speed at which 343 fixes some things. I appreciate how quickly some items are addressed, such as the store. However I think a roadmap would be REALLY nice so we can know the timetable for other fixes or features that are coming.

I’ve only had my posts flagged by this one kid who has been spending the past two weeks making alt-accounts to harass other users and specifically target @Comedic_Hermit for banning his main account for inappropriate conduct.
The rules for not discussing moderation are still a thing.

Dang. Even if it is in support of the mods doing great? That’s kinda backwards.

It’s better this way. Trust me on that. Though the occasional, “Hey, thanks for trying to keep this place clean and tolerable” goes a long way.

Sorry didnt mean to do that just wanted to explain following the rules was easy

Neutrality in enforcement

I guess I can see that.
A mod banning or muting someone causing discourse could lead to more discourse if there were a few who disagreed with said banning, even though said banned individual could be breaking multiple rules of conduct and the others that support said banned boi also like to break forum guidelines.

And thank you very much for keeping it clean truly do appreciate it
And sorry you gotta deal with some pretty bad discussions and get people who just harass for the sake of harassing or their just bitter

Keep up the good work. I know all too well the type of abuse the community subjects mods to.
