I still think players die too easy

It seems like from every video I watch, a player gets shot once and half his shield is gone. Plus there are no closed/secluded areas on maps because every time you are having a shootout with an enemy player, you get shot at from all directions from all the other players. It’s like you are always in sight. And I still hate the Power Weapon Countdowns. Players should have to time Power Weapons by there selves because that’s how it has always been and it’s skills like that, that separate the good players from the greats. If someone starts drilling your back with an AR and you turn around, most of the time you’d already be dead. People don’t even fight without running behind cover instantly due to the fast kill rate. I think that’s why we have the thrust abilty.

I disagree. What separates good players from the elite is execution, not knowledge. But being a terrible player myself, I’m probably not qualified to talk about the qualities of good players.

It’s still super slow compared to halo CE.

That tank cannon called the “pistol” is the reason for that.

Them grenades though.

Oh yeah, them chain reactions.

Everything killed fast in CE though. Except maybe the needler on account of sucking -Yoink- full-time back in CE…

On the subject of things that CE did well: I’m so glad the melee lunge has been all but eliminated in Halo 5.

if you’re getting gunned down from all directions either the enemy team is well coordinated or you done -Yoinked!- up son. Also time to kill is faster in this game but shots to kill is about the same. It makes teamwork more important as the Spartan abilities make 1v1s harder to have because teams can regroup very quickly and running away is a lot harder as sprint prevents shields from recharging.

so getting caught in the open will get you killed before you can get to cover, getting caught next to cover becomes all in or bail as drawing out a fight will get one of you ganked by the other team. The design priority here is simple teams win, Rambo’s don’t

Players aren’t dying more easily, the weapons are just better at killing them. Shots to kill are the same for the most part.

I think that the higher rate of fire is “lowering” the kill times.

Players dying more easily is a conclusion. Weapons being better at killing them is a reason. You’ve inadvertently reinforced OP’s argument.

When people are sprinting and thrusting around like the Road Runner, yeah, weapons have to kill quicker or else no one is going to die before they zoom halfway across the map. You don’t have to like it (I know I don’t), but that’s why weapons kill so quickly.

Not sure how I ‘reinforced’ anything… It’s OP’s claim that Spartans themselves were less durable, which isn’t the case.

Moving along…

But you haven’t. Which is my point. Weapons being able to kill better inherently means that players die more easily. Unless your last sentence was to imply that it’s rate of fire which impacts this “easier killing” rather than weapons in general being better at killing, which would be a fair point had you shown any intention of articulating that rather than passive-aggresively implying you made even the most tenuous argument and demanding to move past that whole “evidence and argument” aspect of proving a point.

Passive-aggressively implying? How?

You’re on so much edge that I can’t understand where you’re coming from… God forbid you read my post as it is without overthinking it.

Look. You can’t simultaneously believe that players aren’t dying more easily and that the spartans which we control are less durable. These are contradictory statements. I’m asking you to qualify this. Please do so.

You’re mostly right. Knowledge plays a part though.

I would’ve liked to see maybe a 3-5% nerf on most weapons fire rate from my beta experiences which would put TTK more on par with H4’s but it’s not a huge deal.

At least it’s not like halo 2 on legendary…
BTW screw halo 2 on legendary

You’re mostly right. Knowledge plays a part though.True enough, but that’s why I qualified my statement as being a matter of the good against the best rather than the -Yoink- being against the good.

Fug, I borked up the source code edit. That would be a very good reason for a PREVIEW POST OPTION AS EVERY FORUM SINCE 2007 AT THE LATEST HAS HAD 343 HOLY -Yoink- THAT’S SHAMEFUL ON YOUR PART AND NOT MINE.

But when did I say they were less durable? OP was the one who said they felt less durable, and in an effort to put his concerns to rest, I offered to refute this.
