I still generally think the armor in Halo 4-5 were better

Halo 5 had several cool armors I wish they would bring back

I’m not really a fan of the H4 and H5 armors, but I hope they add an H4 and H5 like armor core for infinite for the people that do like it.

I like the modular design of the armour in Halo Infinite and Reach. Overall I’m happy with the armour so far in Infinite but I haven’t found “my armour” yet, if that makes any sense.

My hot take is that halo 4-5 era art style made spartans look super bulky. They looked like power ranger on steroids.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh you’re serious. Hate to break it to you but in the military its all about uniformity. The armor in Halo 4 and 5 made you look like a power range. IF you want that kind of armor play warframe or destiny.

Jerry Hook alluded to “moving away from the core system” in the last community stream, but as far as I can tell, there hasn’t really been much clarification as to what he precisely meant by that. They’ve specified that they plan on dissolving as many cross-core limitations as possible across all canon cores, which may be the extent of what he was talking about.

It’s possible that they’re thinking of more drastically departing from the underlying core system, but that’s a pretty fundamental change to the customization base of the whole game. It’ll be interesting to hear more in the months to come.

If you’ve heard more/different about what exactly they’re planning, I’d be eager to check it out.

I like the style of the new armour core, although it has no back plating on it. It may as well be marine armour. It’s a bit annoying when it is meant to be spartan armour.

It would be nice if they could keep the basic spartan aesthetic to all the armours.

If that’s the case, then Halo Reach is what you are looking for, and what Infinite should be trying to adhere to for style.

H4 and 5 looked more like Masked Riders in diapers.

imo h4 and h5’s armor all looked squished and small… ugly…
honestly i think the issue that 343 has yet to actually learn to solve that would assist in making things like the armor look better is the lighting and shading of things… there’s never many shadows, and lighting is 9/10 times bright as the sun even on maps that’re supposed to be dark

Dude, the only range of motion that changed was his COD piece removed everything else was still the same, get off the Kook Aid

Why did 343 Industries feel the need to rename pre-existing Armors / Helmets???

EXAMPLE : The scout helmet is named what now???

Right, even you don’t know what it’s called unless you look it up.

Honestly, Halo Infinite is a MASSIVE step back when it comes to its potential.

Part of me feels like 343 Industries designed the game the way it is so that they can go “ FIX “ and revert back to certain elements of past Halo’s and call those “ FIXES “ … Updates.

I hard disagree most of the armor from 4/5 look like garbo. That armor had more complexity but it was just bad.

What military? You mean the flaming/fart heads, T-bagging the dead, confetti, pink armor and cat ears? Did you forget those are canon too?

There is nothing military about Halo Infinite. Just some head canon that the community choose what makes sense to them.

But Whale & Pig helmets were okay in Halo 5?

you’re not paying attention. chief had lowered shoulder pads, slanted, narrow-angled chest piece, separate armor for mid section, and armor on biceps and thighs being of lower siurface area than bungie iteration.

there is no “kook”-aid to drink. it’s all facts. scientifically driven.

if you just said you don’t care about grounded armor, just say so. but don’t spread any falsehoods. it reflects poorly on you.

hayabusa armor would like a word with you

I always felt that it made no sense canonically. Which was funny because multiplayer was suddenly canon.

Mjolnir Armor is the single most expensive and advanced piece of technology in the history of mankind. It was developed in secret for what is still a handful of operators in the field.

Now suddenly dozens of manufacturers out there are making their own fully unique, custom, stylized armor sets? It’s a legitimate plot hole.

In the pre-343 days these variations were all just custom attachments that went on top of the Mjolnir armor itself, so only 3 actual sets of armor ever appeared in game all of which were Mjolnir. Mark V, Mark VI, and Mark V[b]. The only exception being the helmets, which did see multiple actual variants produced, but aside from Gungnir, and ODST they were all variants of Mjolnir and developed in-house at ONI.

Armor Cores bring us back to this somewhat more believable approach. Or at least they would if Spartans couldn’t apparently patch together junk they find on the field and end up with a set of fully functioning armor.

The thing is, there are still armor and accessories that make no sense to be int he multiplayer anyways. Even the ones explained, comes off more as an excuse just to have it for fun. Examle, armor effects. Even the FRACTURE events are not explained thoroughly.

And the Mjolnir armor was made secretly like 50 years ago from today’s Halo date. After the Covenant war, the Spartans became an official branch of the military. I’d say it would make sense if there were contracts to coerce armor for the Spartans. Being a multitude of those armors, they were each specialized in many scenarios, as their armor details explained in the customization menus. But in gameplay stance canonically, its just armor.

Fracture was explained throughly enough. It’s non-canon “what if” armor. So canonically your Spartan isn’t wearing it. I’d assume the same for armor effects.

I believe they 100% can make new armor core for H4 and H5 styles in Halo Infinite so everyone can use their favorite armor. Imaging that, people needn’t to discuss which style is better just pick their likes, classic armor fight with fantasy cool thing, I think it is also the reason why they bring Armor Core to the game, like carnival, so many cool things from HALO universe can join in the game. But according to the frequency of current updating, it maybe few years later:( and sale the coating and popular armor part for $20 maybe
