I Still Don't Understand REQ Points...

My biggest complaint with this game would be that I only earn REQ points when I’m playing Matchmaking, which feels annoying. Given how many REQs there are to unlock and how much someone could spend in Forge making maps or in Campaign going for Cheevos and stuff, it’s frustrating to make no progress at all in those modes. Halo 4 at least gave you something in Spartan Ops and Forge/Custom Games even if it wasn’t much, and Reach gave you fair payout on everything across the board because it was rewarding you for just playing the game at all… Like I know people could exploit this to just idle and get REQ points but they could always assign a cap per match/mission and even then can you blame people for wanting to farm when after 30+ hrs in Mutiplayer alone you can have about 25% of the REQs in the game.? It feels weird and vaugely sketchy that I can’t earn REQs just for playing in general, like they were worried people would farm and not spend money on microtransactions, like making money on the REQ system (which I’ve spent a little bit of money on and would have anyways) was more important than players just being able to unlock stuff regardless of how they wanted to play the game.

And yeah yeah yeah, I get it wouldn’t make “lore” sense but I don’t care about lore if it gets in the way of me having a better time and gives me a better game that respects my time invested in it.

What do people think?

It could work for Campaign. Have REQ points awarded upon completion of a mission.

For Forge and Customs it could reward REQ’s provided the match has been going on for a specific period of time. If you end the match before, say, five minutes you won’t get any points. And if you just go afk then you’re only going to get a tiny amount of points for hours worth of afking so that won’t be viable either.
