I still don't believe what 343 said

… seriously? You have to be pulling my leg, you don’t actually believe that, do you?

Doesn’t it seem much more likely that they’re exaggerating the difficulty to avoid making the big changes (because they don’t want to disrupt the business model more than they have to)?

Changing playlists is pretty basic, games do it all the time, I find it hard to believe that Infinite is that different from the competition.

Believe? My boy there is nothing to believe here aside from the facts we have.
Speculating on what is most likely and then believing it too strongly won’t help anything.

What I’m saying is that there may be some truth to what they’re saying, maybe they’ve crippled their own ability to change course for one reason or another. In that case the store items REALLY aren’t worth it.

And the fact remains, the community is upset about the lack of playlists, literally restricting the stuff we can do in the game. It also coincides with a slight benefit to their hypermonetized F2P model. If they choose to ignore the feedback, the game will die. Most of us don’t want that, but there are other things we could be doing besides grinding Quickplay looking for a single CTF match and pining for the good old days when we could just choose that mode.

Shut down? That’s a thing now still?

Well said.

I’ll play the campaign tomorrow, paid $1 for pc game pass, but I’ll forget about mp for a year or two. And by then, the population will have dropped 90%.

Companies have forgotten how to build good will. It’s all front-end-cash-grab.

I never got on the gamepass hypetrain but this game has really made me a believer, because I’m certain I will not be paying $60 for this if I can help it.

Imo the progression system should be credits based like Reach (this is a win-win for 343) you can play to earn credits naturally, but you can also pay real money for credits too (to each their own)
Player performance, KDR, play-style medals and sprees should be the main point of earning XP that go towards your credits you can spend on the battle pass and instead the challenges should grant additional XP bonuses towards credits that you use to buy battle pass cosmetics.

Either they lied or it was just half -Yoink!-

You probably shouldn’t be ageist if you’re going to act like a petulant child when people have valid complaints about the state of the game and 343’s practices.

It’s not much of a beta if it’s literally right before launch, has everything that will be there at launch, and has a store with monetized content. The technical previews a few months ago were the real beta. This beta is a beta in name only.

Like any big company ever did this…
I am all for transparency, but this wont change anytime soon.

The witchhunt on this studio is very undeserved since the only problem people have is monetisation and playlist lol.

I could understand if people blow the steam if the game is unplayable to a degree, but this is riddiculous

I don’t think a “witch-hunt” is warranted but we’re at least owed an explanation on why they’ve seemingly back pedaled on stuff they said and posted earlier.

I’ve only swapped challenges due to time constraints. But aren’t the challenge swaps free in the battle pass? Those are the only swaps I’ve used. I’ve got 23 left.

I don’t condone people being rude or abusive towards the developers, we’re all humans and all deserve to be treated with some basic levels of respect and decency.

That doesn’t mean that I agree with many of the decisions 343 has made with regards to it’s monetization strategy.

“making players have no control and have to use swaps” has never once been a thing I’ve heard. Ever.

That’s a bit like saying someone isn’t a murderer because when killing their victim they don’t expressly state “I have just breached the Homicide Act 1957” Just because someone doesn’t explicitly say that’s what they are doing in those words doesn’t mean they haven’t done it.

The reality is, people are being pressured to spend money because they realistically cannot complete certain challenges, you’ve put a barrier in place to progression and then created and sold a solution to the problem that you have made. It’s insulting the intelligence of your customers to claim otherwise.

Since when did 25 become the measurement of someone’s knowledge and experience? I know plenty of poeple over that age that have done nothing with their life and are pretty stupid themselves.

I am 25 btw, so my argument is valid.

He’s referring to when the brain is supposed to finally be fully matured - but y’know, people read one thing and take it as gospel
