You are their target demographic my friend. No offense, but it’s people like you that feed this system.
Why would you buy 200 dollars in Microtransaction?? So far I’ve bought 1000 credits for the battle pass. And Until the system changes, I am not spending any more.
If you wanted them to lower prices then you shouldn’t have bought anything. You’re only as potent as your own agency. Being worried about other people spending money like you do is a weird hobby. You can’t spend $200 just to turn around and say it’s bad. You should have realized it was bad first.
Holy crap, $200 on this???
You could’ve bought the Halo 3 Collectors Edition or Halo Reach.
This could very much have gone unposted. What should have happened is you should have seen the prices, applied your current logic beforehand, and not made the purchase.
A forum post where you complain about the money you spend because you didn’t get ‘enough’, despite knowing what you were going to get beforehand makes no sense and should probably be locked by someone.
Even if as you’re suggesting, you’re merely pointing out you think it should have a greater value for your money because it’s a ‘one off purchase’ this post still makes just as little sense because you bought it knowing what you’d get
/thread imo
The Washington Post and Forbes magazine are talking about this. This is huge, far from being an echo chamber on here as some people might think.

Credits, or whatever 343i is calling the in-game currency, could be cheaper, or items in the store could cost less credits, or anything they can do for players to get a little more bang for their buck.
Anyway, the childish responses in the thread just make me want to spend more cash on the store so 343i won’t ever change it.
Prices could afford to be cut in half and still pull in tons of money, by making it more affordable to lower income people and poorer countries, especially for all the recolored jpeg coatings and visors that take minutes at most to make. Everything else is expensive because it’s bundled, but we don’t want most of the stuff in the bundle.
I’m no stranger to wasting money in gacha and other f2p type games, but I’m an adult with plenty of money, and adults are the target victim audience, not kids. 343 is targeting Halo veterans and milking the adults for nostalgia value, but they’re just making everyone annoyed instead.
I’ll give them a chance, but based on interviews, I can tell some 343 devs don’t exactly have full say in the matter and also don’t like the way the game is being marketed. Maybe the real person in charge will give in a bit and make it better for the fans, while still having a good income.
Either way, if you think $99.99 is a lot of money in a f2p game, stay far away from gacha and loot boxes.
I mean it’s $115 worth for $99.99 (which works out to $106 with tax typically)
Which is more than enough for a Premium BP and several bundles, which is in line with my quarterly drop in R6 Siege when that was my daily driver with friends.
$200 is just compulsively buying everything available. That’s a YOU issue my dude
I second this, stay away from
Genshin Impact
Gundam Battle Gunpla Warfare

-Yoink!- me even £50 is expensive to me,
How is it whataboutism to be like “115% is the typical big boy currency pack” and “Bro, it’s on you to control your spending”
And yeah, some of the packs feel a little steep, but ya’ll act like everything should be $5 and take 5 seconds to unlock. (Besides the Noble6 skin which makes me want to know why they didn’t remove the grey/blue from the Mk5 set lmao)
No disrespect, but you can’t spend an absurd amount of money right off the get go, and then ask them to make it cheaper. Why would they? They already have your money, and if you’re going to spend money anyway, what incentives do they have to give you more for your buck? You’re gonna throw money at them all the same, they don’t need to change anything.
You live and learn I guess.
too late, they won’t change now. cause you just encouraged them on this idea, lol.
oh dear.
this is going to create an issue.
i fear the aaa industry is going to suffer from this.
