I sometimes get an error page when I try and access the forum. The only way I can fix it is to clear all my cookies and return back to the homepage.
Why does this happen? It’s really annoying.
It’s an issue with expiring cookies. Simple fixes - don’t allow for auto sign-in or load xbox.com when you get the error, then return here.
I have the same issue, and I have my cookies set to disappear everytime I close the browser to try and fix it.
It still has the same problem, and for some reason when I try to go to xbox.com and fix it, it loads really slowly or says DNS look up failed. Subdomains of xbox.com are fine, though.
Uh, I get the same problem, except at only around 7-9 pm. Outside of that time period, the cookies work…so 343, better fix it.
Everytime i try to log in to H:waypoint i get a "server could not be found"message.
i need to visit www.xbox.com and log in there, then jump to halo.xbox.com/forums.
EDIT: sometimes when trying to post i will get the same error message too, i was just checking that…
any thoughts? known issue?

This is a known error. I sometimes have to revisit xbox.com and log in again. They should be working on it.
Same problem here. I get two security warnings from Firefox, then some error. Also have to first go to xbox.com and sign in there, then come here and hope it works.

Funny thing is I even get an error message when signing OUT.
It says that sign-out isn’t complete and gives me a list of the sites I signed out from; that’s “Xbox”, “MSN Account Services”, and whatever other site I happened to be on during that browser session. And then it says that I couldn’t be signed out of “Xbox.com PROD IDSAPI”, whatever that is.

Same problem here. I have to errase halo.xbox.com’s cookies every time I start FireFox because signing in Xbox.com doesn’t work either…
I just spent 10 minutes trying to get on the forum because I kept getting an error about the server. Is this common? I had to go on google, type in Halo WAypoint forum, click on a link to someone ells’ post, then log in to be able to access all the forum features. Why did I have to do all that? Will they fix it or is it only me? How would I fix it?
You have to log out everytime you leave the waypoint forums or the cookies will expire and yeah.
Pretty sure I made my own post lol. I’ve never seen the admins combine too different different posts before.
They do it all the time…
It sucks when they fuse your thread with 30+ replies into one with 200+ replies, because it’s almost impossible to see the discussion you were having in it.
And yes. Going to Xbox.com and signing in before coming onto the forums stops the error.
For some reason on my safari web browser I found that this site would give me errors from trying to share some sort of sign in information. I finally found the solution around this error though it does require me having a tab open on xbox.com, only then can I go straight to these forums without any errors. if the moderators want to find a way to fix this problem altogether then more power to you guys, it would be appreciated.
I believe all is needed is just to sign into Xbox.com before you start browsing the forums.
It should most likely be fixed when the ‘gamma’ forums are rolled out and all the kinks sorted before final release.
Well, you do know that there will be new iterations of these forums very soon. I don’t think it’s an issue looking to be fixed this late in the process.

Recently I’ve been experiencing problems with this site. Whenever I visit the Halo Waypoint page and click on forums, I would usually be directed to the forum page. More recently, however, I’ve been redirected to another page that says that the site is either experiencing problems or is not a member of Windows Live. Usually i would just simply refresh the page to fix it, but nowadays this doesn’t work anymore.
For a whole week now I’ve been redirected to the same error page every time I try and visit these forums. I have no such problem with other Windows Live sites, and I only have this problem on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Obviously I’m using Internet Explorer (God Forbid) to visit this forums right now, but I have no way to access the forums through Chrome or Firefox.
Has anyone had this problem, or is it only me? Is this a networking issue, or does Waypoint just hate me with a burning passion?
