I sold all of my REQS.

I am winding down my road of Halo 5. Sure, I will be on now and then, but I’m going to just play customs and a little bit of warzone. I sold all of my REQS and got 50,000 points. I got a lot of good stuff out of it (still no Helljumper tho).
Now here are my questions: Will Halo 5 go into retirement soon? Will it be added to MCC in a few years? Did we actually love it the entire time?

H5 will end up like the other previous 360 games and just exist with updates eventually getting fewer and farther between until there are none. It’s too big to be added into MCC, but my guess is that the full game will eventually end up on PC.

I doubt it’ll be added to MCC. It will likely receive frequent quality of life updates down the road though.

Retirement? Nah, the servers will remain open as long as Xbox and 343 exists. Added to the MCC? No, I don’t think so. There’s a handy shortcut within MCC to get to it but being put into the game it will not. No other game collection has retroactively added a sequel to a ‘collection’ before, as far as I know. Did we love it the entire time? Some did.

While I have had fun and appreciate the focus on equal spawns there is still a lot that disappointed me. WZ always finds new ways to piss me off and I somewhat enjoyed WZA only to have it demoted to a rotational playlist. My BTB impression is pretty mixed, I really applaud all the forgers that made the maps, but certain maps feel really bland and almost like placeholders for professionally made ones. Not a single developer made BTB map really bothers me. Game modes from previous titles never made their way into H5 and the only new game mode I really liked is Super Fiesta. The game’s UI feels clunky and freezes/glitches out pretty frequently. I could go on, but Halo 5 has been a ride and I hope that for H6 that the support is consistent even years out.
