Is there any way we can expand the search parameters in onyx-champ FFA? I haven’t found a single game in the past week. I shouldnt have to make a smurf just to find games.
Anyone else experiencing this?

In all seriousness if making a smurf or alternate account is what it takes just to play a game I wouldn’t blame them. -Yoink- the matchmaking if it won’t even let me play a game on my original account. I don’t have that issue, but if I did I’d be doing the same thing cuz it’s ridiculous that some have to do that just to play a game that wasn’t developed properly.
What would you do if you liked this game? But couldn’t play it without having to make a different account to bypass the matchmaking? Would you seriously not take that chance or would you put up with not finding a game in 30+ minutes to maybe even not getting a game all week? Or simply move onto a game setup with better matchmaking wise?
I understand your worry 100% but if it’s at the cost of not being able to play I have no issue with them doing so.

I think thier is something wrong with the match making. I have been having huge issues playing any ranked games until on times on weekends. I live in usa, and sit in the bronze to silver ranks. Swat and ffa are more less dead to me all the time.
Only for the last month. Just seems odd with all the Xmas noobs

I don’t wanna play a bunch of low level guys, but if the alternative is not being able to play at all then what choice do I have? Ideally I’d be match with similarly slilled players.

That’s not a solution though lol. Odds are most of the champs/onyx players get placed at their same spots soon as they finish placement and they’re already back into the same issue a week after resets. No one wants to them wait 3 weeks to another month (since 343 does 2 month long seasons) just to play a game.
The dude has said he doesn’t smurf to play vs lower skilled players (which should satisfy most if you), he simply can’t get a game so he bypasses a way to do so, and I don’t blame him, I’d do the same. There’s an issue with the game if people have to wait out time just to play (minus the banned players, most generally deserve it).
Surprised, in FFA there are more onyx players than any other playlist i think.

I don’t play FFA, I’m only trying to provide options! But if FFA is dear to your heart, and you “can’t get enough”, then I guess you must make the decision about making a Smurf account.

it is weird there isnt a social FFA variant. there was in previous halos and they have an entire social playlist now
idk why so many high levels cant get matches in FFA. its not like no one is ever searching
Just play social. No ranks there. I know people will say “but that ruins the game for people who casually play,” but honestly, there will still be a lot of people playing competitively and a lot of people migrated to the social playlists.
Most FFA players, including myself, aren’t playing right now because the ranks should reset soon. I don’t want to keep grinding to have them yanked out from under me. They need to go ahead and reset the yoinking ranks already.

Even non ranked modes will carry the same issue, it’s a flaw the the hidden ranks as well. You’ll see a lot of btb players have issues getting a game because of it.
I never ran to the problem I always find my matches within a minute max. Granted I stopped playing halo for a while so I’m not onyx tier and I’m diamond 6-low onyx now i don’t blame you though I made a Smurf account just so I can play the god **** game once. It’s honestly dumb how there was a point in time I had to use a fake account just to play the game. Before anyone says just play warzone I’d rather just uninstall the game at that point.

There is truth to this. A lot of people are waiting for the season to reset.
Hence a other reason why rank resets, placement matches and so on is an epic fail in my opinion.

Maybe you’re only joking, but why the hostility toward lower ranks? It just fuels the anger toward smurfers. I think you’re misplacing your frustration with 343 on other players who are trying to enjoy the game just like you.
I agree you shouldn’t have to make a smurf to get games. As evidence by this thread and others like it, the seasonal resets do more to discourage ranked game play than encourage it, which is why they supposedly exist. The playing population drops, matchmaking suffers, smurfs abound, matchmaking gets even worse, and the population drops more.
Now that players can drop Tiers there is no reason to set every player back once a month. Just let them settle into their proper rank and fluctuate there for god’s sake. If they take a month off, then make them replay placements. For the Champs who get CSR piled into the tens of thousands just set them back to Onyx 1700 monthly, since it should be about skill and not time in game.
Question: The side of the controller with the sticks goes up, right? And do the bumpers/triggers go forward?
I have a friend who’s trying to make champion in FFA. He said he’s Onyx 400 last night. He plays every day. You either have an ISP problem or are playing at the wrong times.
