At least that is what many players that favor the 343i’s changes are being told. “Oh, this is not a Halo game, if you want those additions then you should play Call of Duty.”
LIke what? Really? No. I will not play CoD. Here is why?
Halo 4 was my first Halo game. It is what introduced me into Halo and made me fall in love with the franchise. I put insane amount of hours into Halo 4 and enjoyed the crap out of the game. Was it perfect? No. No Halo game is. But I thought it was absolutely one of the best games of 2012.
So I started joining Halo facebook pages and halo waypoint a little over a year back I was in -Yoinking!- awe at how much hate this game I enjoyed was getting. One of the main things I have seen is Halo is no longer Halo and it has turned into CoD.
For a long while I didn’t believe but I never played a CoD game… Ever. So I wanted to try it out and see if Halo 4 reminded me of CoD. So I went to Redbox and picked up a CoD game, played it for two hours before I literally said “forget this -Yoink-” and removed the disc from my Xbox as quick as I could, like my life was depended on it.
In other words I hated it. Halo 4 did not feel like CoD at all to me. And I will never pay money on another CoD game, whether it be from RedBox or otheriwse. So when people say " You should just leave Halo alone and play CoD" they really do make me upset because they are asking me to stop playing a game I do love and play a game I will not even touch with a ten foot pole. I have 3 other friends who hate CoD as well but love Halo 4.
Now my little brother has seen all the cool (but far from original) features of AW and has been begging me to get it for him. I just say “Lol you silly little child, shut up and play with your toy cars.”
I hate people who say this tame looks like a generic fps. Seriously, put the features of Halo 5 next to the features of CoD AW. There are such stark differences between the two that saying they are alike kills braincells.

halo 5 has NO comparison, its the freshest and newest fps game ever created
At this point the gaming market is saturated with FPS games. And almost everything has been done before. Or so it seems. Halo is still Halo. And CoD is still CoD.

Believe what? That there are differences or that there are people who think they are the same?
No OP its perfectly fine to play what you enjoy. Fair warning but H5G will play like a proper halo game (if the community can get its way)
This means no losing off spawn
Punishment to players who abandon their team
Fair matches
Rewards that you earn from the combination of: teamwork, personal skill, map control
Each of your matches should have just as much energy and entertainment as a mlg tournament as youll be facing opponents just as skilled as yourself.
No play to win no undeserved rewards delivered to your feet, and no unfair luck deaths
Just fair balanced and equal play.
You will win because of how well you worked as a team, how good you are yourself, and how well you can defeat your foes.
You will only lose if your outplayed not because someone has loadout x and you had y or because you had z in your loadout and the had q.

The reason why halo 4 got so much hate is because it strayed away from what Halo was. You yourself said Halo 4 was your first Halo game so it would be near impossible for you to understand.

How good a game is purely subjective and what is considered fun is equally as subjective. When CE came out I was 7 and not into video games. Aww thanks for being worried about my childhood. But you need’nt be sorry about my childhood. It was pretty fantastic actually. Have a lot of fond memories that I wish I could relive now that I’m just about closing my third year of college. Interestingly enough video games have nothing to do with those fond memories. Thanks anyway, much appreciated.

Can’t seem to recall having the ability to enjoy something that I have never played or heard of. But, oh well, if you say so…
BTW can you tell me more about the Call of Halo series? I never heard of it. Since you are recommending I play it I assume that Call of Halo 4 is much better than Call of Halo 1,2 or 3. Are there only 4 Call of Halos or are there other spinoffs or unnumbered Sequels to this series? Are the Call of Halos, other than 4, even worth getting?

Games and their lifespans have been on a downward trend. Back when halo 2 came out, how many huge blockbusters came out each year?
Now there is practically one every month. With so many “next gen” games being thrown around all the time and with so many different gaming systems, it is hard to have a game keep that kind population month to month.

Call of duty seems to have a pretty consistent lifespan. If halo 4 was very successful players would have kept coming back similar to how they would for any other game they enjoy.
Not sure what constructive discussion this is supposed to spawn.
I could talk about why I think Halo 4 falls short (without even mentioning the new additions).
I could talk about the reverse of this argument (i.e. applied to people that DON’T support the new changes).
I could talk about why I think it’s a somewhat justified statement.

The amount of sales for each call of duty games has been dwindling.
