The best way of seeing how everything else has changed is to go back to a place where nothing has…
After basking in the nostalgia of the main menu theme I jump straight into multiplayer. My oh my was I wrong to leave you. Every element of gameplay was exactly what I have been missing.
BTB played like BTB. I could actually move around open maps without apprehension of getting cross mapped by a DMR. Vehicles were once again a keystone of multiplayer and the Warthog was no longer a free double kill.
The BR duels was up close and personal in the 5v5 playlist and the overall gunplay was not only more rewarding, but far more intense.
The contest in Slayer was unparalleled to anything I have experienced in Halo 4.
Halo 3 wasn’t perfect for all, but in respect to what Halo has become, it is the closest to being it.

I journey through CEA’s campaign on a regular basis and if its multiplayer was a genuine remake of CE’s, rather than rehashing Reach, I’d be playing that as well as Halo 3.

The point is people have differnet interpretations of what Halo is, so saying “real Halo” is subjective, anyway it’s cool to see your playing 3 again, I don’t like the game myself but hey
It seems like you’re trolling pretty much every Halo 3 thread that appreciates the game. If you just never happened to have the same fun experiences we did, why bother commenting on the fact you didn’t enjoy the game?
Also, more on topic, many fans agree this is the “real Halo” solely because of its polished and relatively simplified multiplayer. To many, this bare bones way of playing Halo is just better.
No one worries about Armor Lock, Sprint, Ordinance, etc. or playing to win just for yourself. This was because Halo 3 was the last Halo game to promote true teamwork, that can be argued all day, I’m sure, but look at the later Halo games - all level rankings are determined not by winning, but by how well only YOU do, and what you do, in game. So what happens when people stop playing to win? What happens when people are no longer motivated to win for their new high rank, but instead just get as many challenges done as possible? This tends to make people play more selfishly, instead of making people help each other to win.
Anyways, that’s just what I think Halo is missing nowadays, people who play for enjoyment and with teamwork. People used to look forward to those two aspects whenever they got on Xbox Live/Halo 3.

Not that I want to put any pressure on Halo 4 than it already needs, but I always felt instantly hated when dying in Infinity Slayer. Halo 3 has never made me feel this way when losing.

For the past 6 years I’ve been playing Halo 3. And I will keep playing. A bunch of new games won’t stop me from playing Halo 3.
I wish I would of stayed with Halo 3. I was never a good player(41 HS) but damn the amount of aim assist in H4 and probably Reach (don’t remember) has made my BR so bad that I’m getting out BR’d 9/10. I know I’ll get better but right now it’s very frustrating.

If you want to add someone you can practice with, you should add me. I enjoy teaching lesser-skilled players.
