I seriously don't get it...

Casual players complain about MLG, and how they get rid of 3/4 of the weapons. 3/4 of these weapons are just, in fact, too useless to be worth picking up.

I made a thread last night, and so many people were so adamantly against the idea I proposed of a competitively-balanced sandbox, one where every weapon is viable at a high level of play. This simply cannot hurt anyone at all. Period.

I am really disappointed in this community, because I used the word MLG, everyone was at my throat about the issue, not even taking the time to understand the thread. I’m gonna take another stab at this.

What is so wrong with a balanced sandbox? Why is everyone so against the idea?

Explain to me what casual means, because I doubt it means what you think it means.

Just to be clear, it’s possible to be for a balanced sandbox and against MLG.

I salute you sir, for having 10000000000000% more intelligence than the rest of the halo community. there is nothing wrong with a balanced sandbox. the phags just don’t want to learn how to use more than 3 weapons, because it’s to difficult for them to comprehend.

I agree, an MLG player shouldn’t be blamed for not picking up/using an AR, shotgun, spiker, etc.
Its not their fault the weapons are ganna get the job done, I mean seriously what do you expect a fricken’ rule be placed where you must use all the weapons just for the benefit of the sandbox?

As I’ve said before, I’m neutral in this case. I am glad that 343i are trying their best to cater to different types of fans, whether they’re MLG or casual. I’ve had fun in casual playlists where everyone runs around with those useless weapons as you call them, and I’ve also had fun in MLG gametypes. So I for one am grateful that we are given an option in how we play Halo.

Someone resorting to insults shouldn’t really try to judge intelligence.

Guys, making threads like these where you make it like a “MLG vs social” point of view only causes arguments and flaming between communities. Right now we should be trying to come together as one Halo community, not fight over -Yoink- that has been beaten to death forever now. I think we all know why MLG uses a limited Sandbox, not everything is viable or right for optimal competitive settings and I think we all know why Default playlists try to use as much of the Games Sandbox as possible. Different gamers prefer different settings.

i agree with you labeling fans casual and hardcore
frankly im tired of reading threads about casuals and hardcore fans

they exist, but in small numbers. they just flood the site and create bias.

But the casuals have won for 3 games now :\

An ad hominem, calling people -Yoinks!-, is a fallacy, a sign of flawed reasoning. So they can be, but you didn’t succeed.

besides reach what games have they won? and what does being “casual” mean

> besides reach what games have they won? and what does being “casual” mean

From what I gather, “casuals” are the vast majority of the community. So yeah, not a surprise they get listened to.

i always thought a casual was someone who would occasionally pick up and play the game but wasnt someone to serious about it

Non-competitive. It means what he thinks it means.

That is the actual defintion of “casual”, but some people have never heard of a dictionary.

but it seems to me that people are being labeled as casual because they are willing to accept some gameplay changes were as hardcore fans are the ones who want to stick to classic halo gameplay

Huh, people seem to love my essay.

That’s weird.
