Honestly, what’s with all the complaining? So far I haven’t seen anything that truly disappoints me. Sure, perks could be annoying if 343 takes them and makes them ridiculously game-changing, but seeing as we know almost nothing about them as of now, there is no reason to complain until we know more.
Also, from what I can actually gather about the multiplayer, it looks amazing. Graphics look spectacular, maps look great, sprint is fine (let’s be honest, there is almost no game nowadays that doesn’t have sprint, it’s kind of a given) and I truly enjoyed it in reach (only armor ability I actually liked.) There is NO bloom, and the health and shields have been integrated as one again. Supposedly there are now three grenade types (as apparent by the three zeroes in the top right corner during the gameplay) and the BR is BACK!
So please, stop whining until 343 has released more about their plans for the game. They have clearly stated that Halo 4 has evolved and has become 343’s Halo, not Bungie’s, while still keeping the roots of what made Halo great. For now, I have full faith in them, and expect a wonderful game to come from their efforts.

They’ve been confirmed to be progressively unlocked perks. This is gamechanging and in a bad way. The equal, balanced Halo we all know is no more. Nobody is on an equal footing. The series is not primarily skill-based anymore but about who’s been playing longer and who’s unlocked the best perks and weapons. It is definitely something to complain about.
Do you guys even know what the said perks are? No! You don’t know anything beyond what we’ve seen today.
I say take a chill pill and relax for a moment. Halo 4 will be an amazing game and it will just take some time for you to realize it. 343 hasn’t forgotten about the core audience one bit. How would you feel if 343 did nothing to the game? You would complain because nothing is new.
I agree. I’ve been playing since the early days of Halo CE on Gamespy and it is just a natural progression of things. We know nothing about the new “perk” system at all. As for there not being a Beta, I’m disappointed but I don’t mind a little surprise as well. With the ability to change things with hoppers and sliders, I can understand why they wouldn’t want to devote time to a Beta portion of the game when so many in game changes can be made rather quickly these days. Look at the number of updates that are released for GoW 3, MW3, and Battlefield. The engineers know that things will need to be tweaked regardless and they implement those systems into the back end so they can adjust items on the fly.
Sprint is an added bonus considering I wanted that to be in Halo 2. I really wanted it to be able to run quicker while trying to cap a flag. What’s happening is the forums are exploding with kids who heard Perk and just immediately start bashing the game before they read all the relevant info. We’ll know more come E3 time once journalists get their hands on a playable version of the game.
Agreed. Aside from the whole perk (NO progressive perks please) thing im actually really excited for halo4. The graphics look great, the br is back and bloom is gone. The whole power weapon random spawning sounds stupid but at this point there are no solid sources for it.

You state we don’t know anything about the game then state that it’ll be amazing? Then go on to say that it’ll “take time” for me to realise that it’s a good game? I am criticising something we already know. Progressive unlocks and loadouts have been confirmed. It’s fact. It’s happening. Deal with it.

Not only is that extremely hypocritical it’s just blind loyalty. You’re an embarrassment. I am criticising something we already know. Progressive unlocks and loadouts have been confirmed. It’s fact. There is no direct mention of what the perks entail other than armor customization. It’s just been a broad announcement of a perk-type progression system in MP.

Agh ok so this perk system could be anything from weapon upgrades, to extra grenades, to just armor customization.
We dont need to know what the perks are. If they effect the gameplay (as thats what perks do) then I want no part of it. Halo is about equal opportunity for all players.

This, also Halo is now more further away from it’s beautiful simplicity than ever. To be honest I really really did not expect this. One thing I’ve noticed is that 343i thinks they can get away with this by reintroducing the BR, Regenerating health, 1-50 RS, and some other things that fans have been desperately crying out for. Perks take the skill out of getting the upper hand that’s why many people disliked loadouts. 343i just needs to take the power ups off the menus and put them back on the map.
