I saw sprint, and it scared me.

Why did 343 opt to show scenes of armor abilities being used? We’ve already shown and voiced our displeasure over the whole idea.

I’d be fine if hopefully it was only included in custom options, but the fact that they decided to show it in their first ViDoc scares me.

I’m hoping that this is just another thing that’ll get cut before the final release.

You automatcily spawn with SPrint’ it’s not an AA.

It’s just sprint.

I’m fine with that.

They haven’t shown any other so I doubt it will function like REACH’s AA’s. The sprint will probably be exactly the same as it was in oh I don’t know…EVERY SHOOTER OF THE PAST 20 YEARS!

sprint is fine but not armour lock

Sprint is kinda necessary at this point. They wanted to make you feel like a super-soldier, in a super suit. A real super-soldier would run, not power walk…

Sprinting is a good thing and having it in Halo also shows that 343 wishes to promote good cardio. They just want a healthier playerbase.

Hopefully it’s just a default Sprint that all players have that can be turned off via custom options.

Are you trying to say that spartans should be incapable of running? That sounds like a horrible idea, considering every othir fps video game series that was remotely succesful has some form of sprint

I’d rather have no armor abilities on spawn than spawn with just sprint. Here’s why:

Ironically, sprint slows gameplay down. Everyone escapes more easily, while you can’t chase easily because of your inability to shoot while sprinting (and coming out of it). It’s also nearly impossible to call out positions because by the time you’re done communicating, they’re already gone. So matches last longer and are more hectic, and this causes stress.

Because of sprint, it is impossible to increase movement speed and therefore increase strafing effectiveness (increasing the skillgap), because sprinting on fast enough strafing speed is just too fast.

Because of the cooldown when sprinting, it is also impossible to have fast killtimes because once someone shoots you when you still have to come out of sprint, you’re screwed because you will be a couple of shots behind.

Sprint also comes with the abundance of noobs who try to sprint double beatdown. Not to mention the sprint + sword combo.

Wrong… Counter strike, the Halo trilogy… Plently of games don’t feature sprint and the disadvantages it brings (see my post above)

Boo hoo it scared me, what da hell do you want us to do about it. Hug you and pat your head.

Sprint isn’t bad. I HATE AAs, but sprint just seems okay. In this day and age, I think we are so used to sprint in other games, that its started to become an integral part of games. It just opens up the battlefield more… I doesn’t make you invincible, or invisible, or send out a holographic version of yourself, quit moaning. Have some faith in 343i!

Did any Halo before Reach have sprint?

No. And yet they were highly successful games.

In fact, what you’re saying right now is basically “Halo has to join the crowd of generalized FPS’s and have sprint”.

I don’t want to “feel like a super-soldier”.
I felt like a badass in Halo CE.

What I DO want, however, is gameplay that can legally be called “Halo”.

Did Master Chief run in Halo CE, 2, and 3?

Exactly…

I don’t know what kind of point they’re trying to make…

But I think their only Halo was Reach.

Anyone who wants sprint in a Halo game is just bad and should go play CoD.

> You automatcily spawn with SPrint’ it’s not an AA.

how is that better? IMO that’s worse. It’s one thing when sprint is a tradeoff, but when it is just a base trait that everyone has ontop the stupid “perk” things 343 is talking about, that will be horrible.

Sprint is severely detrimental to competitive Halo and drastically reduces the skill required to stay alive and/or win/be an effective player.

If they want to herp a derp with a couple playlists and make it isn’t some aim assist filled, social, gimmick fest like CoD, then fine but give us a few playlist of “classic” Halo so the 1% of us who have put in 50% of the games ever played on Halo can have an experience we can enjoy.

I hope the players that are even slightly competitive will have more than one playlist to enjoy themselves in.
