I rewrote the Halo Infinite MP Player narrative because I'm unsatisfied with what we have right now

The current Halo Infinite MP Narrative while much better than Spartan Ops, is clearly not what players want. Spartan Academy as a concept, while plausible, serves only to draw away the mysticism and power of the Spartan. I have decided to rewrite the Halo Infinite MP Narrative, hopefully you find this a good read.

Introduction

The player is introduced to the Infinite universe through a simple narrative setting: They are part of a special Spartan - Elite cell, a collaboration between the UNSC and the Swords of Sanghelios. They were sent by their superiors to investigate Zeta Halo as an advance recon team before Infinity arrives. Your initial contact with Zeta is disastrous and the following skirmish over Zeta with the Infinity occurs and we are pushed forward in time.

You choose here to be an Elite or a Spartan.
Your selected choice will survive the crash, while your counterpart dies.

Awakening

The ship’s on-board AI, Hydrangea, awakens you from cryosleep. Hydrangea has detected friendly UNSC forces in the area and pinged them to your location. You are extracted from the crashed craft along with your deceased cell partner. You meet the leader of the UNSC forces, Commander Agryna. She explains that they have secured the area and set up a more permanent Base at Stronghold Tremonious, and invites you back to base.

This will be your main social hub
Features like Firefight and PvE content will be accessed here

Firefight

Spartan Agryna is in charge of operations and sends you out along with ODSTs and the Spartans she has brought with her. It will be a more dynamic experience of Firefight where the actions you take here can be shared with others. Load up into 4 player Fireteams along with a Razorback packed with Ordnance. Finish a set to complete the mission, or keep going to help the UNSC strengthen their foothold on Zeta. If your fireteam is wiped out, the Ordnance you have brought along with you will remain, for another fireteam to utilize in their instance of the same Firefight.

What does all this mean?

Buhbye Spartan Academy, and MP PvP will now be divorced from the narrative.

I personally have never understood the necessity for canon multiplayer - in Halo 4, the most it did was create parity between your appearance in MP and your appearance in Spartan Ops. It meant literally nothing otherwise.

In Halo 5, it means even less. Your MP Spartan never showed up in Spartan Ops (didn’t exist). I guess it kinda makes sense for Warzone, but that’s a simulation too anyway (Halo basically exists in the Matrix now, I guess)

In Infinite, they’re trying to do a narrative story-line, but there’s like… Six months between stories. And the stories are boring. Nothing happened in the First Season except “I’m going to go do cool stuff, you get to go play in the Matrix.” Second Season got a little bit better, but it was “Here’s the Spartans coming back from doing cool stuff. No, you don’t get to do cool stuff. Now go kill each other in the Matrix until the Banished AI gets bored.”

Like, if this is the level of narrative depth they’re going for with the multiplayer, why even bother?
