Fine, I’ll take the bait, despite these being pointed out literally 1000s of times.
Halo was originally an Arena FOS. This means everyone starts on the exact even footing. Same weapons, same grenades, same spawning, same speed, same jumping, etc. this allowed for a completely equal BALANCE that turned the game into a pure competition of teamwork, accuracy, and strategy.
Personal Ordinance
Customizable Loadouts
Perks
All obliterate equality and balance. And no. “They could be,” is a terrible argument. They never have been and never will be.
Besides, if perks are “subtle,” why even add them except to throw balance off just like bloom.
How is it fair and balanced to know where your killer is exactly? They’re destroying this once valuable asset called “team chat.” if I’m slaughtering your team from one position, the game shouldn’t tell you exactly where I am. You should use teamwork to dispose if me.
Spartan Ops is original and something I’m personally looking forward to. It DOES sound too much like Spec Ops and 343i is banking on this to try and lure little CoD fanboys. All the naming in the game is completely unoriginal:
Mission Infinity
Project Infinity
Infinity Ops
I’ve heard even better than these on the forums. “Soartan Ops” and “Spartan Points” are simply lazy and uninspired much like most of the gameplay mechanics you’ve listed.
Sprint just seemed to ruin maps. Did you notice how much bigger Reach maps were compared to previous titles? It ruined smaller intense maps like Guardian or Lockout or Wizard. Maps need an overhaul from Reach. Smaller, tighter, less AA inspired.
