I Require Reasoning

Please tell me, aside from being similar to another franchise, what is wrong with these potential additions.

• Kill cams
• Personal Ordinance
• Customizable Loadouts
• Subtle enhancements (perks)
• Sprint
• Spartan Ops
• Instant Respawns

Please, tell me. What’s wrong with these?

ItZ RuInZs DaH HaLoZ

or

343 Iderties iS TuRnInG HAaLo InTo CaWaDooTy!!1!!11!

in a nutshell

i’m fine with them btw, as long as they/re not ridiculous

nothing is wrong with them, we have not seen how they work and people say they KNOW HOW THEYZZZ WILLLZ WORKSZZ they don’t, we have yet to see them, there are a million ways to implement them so we have literally no idea how they will work yet. I am looking forward to tomorrow !!!

Kill cams are a useless gimmick, the fact an enemy can see me when he is dead and what direction I moved too when I was on the other side of the map is silly, the camera in Reach followed the player for a short amount of time, that was fine.

I assume Personal Ordinance is the weapon drops? Nothing wrong with that by me, I still don’t fully understand it but time will tell.

Stops the constant “ZOMG, I PREFER DMR/BR STARTS, CAN WE HAZ DAT, TEH AR SUKZZZZ” and allows people to spawn with a BR/DMR when they want.

We don’t have enough information on that officially to make a judgement, we know officially that Thruster Pack (Jetpack), Hologram and Camo is back with big changes.

Sprint is fine in my book, as long as you can’t sprint for a long long time, it will be great, especially since when you get shot, you get slowed down.

Nobody is really complaining about Spartan Ops, it has yet to be revealed fully, it will be tomorrow but I see it as a good & viable replacement for Firefight, weekly missions sounds like a fun addition to me.

I’m gonna say this because nobody can read a bulletin or watch and listen to a video right. You can’t call in weapon drops. You do however have the ability to determine whats in them, how this works has not been mentioned. Nowhere in anything released has it said you can call them in. Alslo there are not kill cams, its hard to tell because of the quality of the leaked video but it was not a kill cam.

All we need is a riot shield and auto turret and the game will be complete, right?

tell me how any of those things improve the game, besides spartan ops.

Because weapon timing and strategy would be out the window if a player can just call in a care package.

Its pretty obvious they came form the future to tell everyone to prevent everyone from playing and keeping the game to themselves, duhh

The only one I am concerned about is kill cams, and barely. Before, if you die, you need to rely on communication and observation to determine where an enemy was (if you didn’t already)… the kill cams can take away this aspect. However, I would like it if the second you die (in the kill cam), it switches to the normal view of just hovering over your dead body, so you can’t necessarily see where your killer went next.
Other than that, it’s not bad. Even if they had a cod-like kill cam, it wouldn’t ruin anything for me.

Fine, I’ll take the bait, despite these being pointed out literally 1000s of times.

Halo was originally an Arena FOS. This means everyone starts on the exact even footing. Same weapons, same grenades, same spawning, same speed, same jumping, etc. this allowed for a completely equal BALANCE that turned the game into a pure competition of teamwork, accuracy, and strategy.
Personal Ordinance
Customizable Loadouts
Perks
All obliterate equality and balance. And no. “They could be,” is a terrible argument. They never have been and never will be.
Besides, if perks are “subtle,” why even add them except to throw balance off just like bloom.

How is it fair and balanced to know where your killer is exactly? They’re destroying this once valuable asset called “team chat.” if I’m slaughtering your team from one position, the game shouldn’t tell you exactly where I am. You should use teamwork to dispose if me.

Spartan Ops is original and something I’m personally looking forward to. It DOES sound too much like Spec Ops and 343i is banking on this to try and lure little CoD fanboys. All the naming in the game is completely unoriginal:
Mission Infinity
Project Infinity
Infinity Ops
I’ve heard even better than these on the forums. “Soartan Ops” and “Spartan Points” are simply lazy and uninspired much like most of the gameplay mechanics you’ve listed.
Sprint just seemed to ruin maps. Did you notice how much bigger Reach maps were compared to previous titles? It ruined smaller intense maps like Guardian or Lockout or Wizard. Maps need an overhaul from Reach. Smaller, tighter, less AA inspired.

> Kill cams are a useless gimmick, the fact an enemy can see me when he is dead and what direction I moved too when I was on the other side of the map is silly, the camera in Reach followed the player for a short amount of time, that was fine.

Agreed.

> I assume Personal Ordinance is the weapon drops? Nothing wrong with that by me, I still don’t fully understand it but time will tell.

The details are fairly straightforward, the big question is what triggers them and how is that tallied if random. Ultimately, I’d like to see more weapon drops for a team that is losing for example. give them the tools they need to stand their ground and be better competitors.

> Stops the constant “ZOMG, I PREFER DMR/BR STARTS, CAN WE HAZ DAT, TEH AR SUKZZZZ” and allows people to spawn with a BR/DMR when they want.

I agree to an extent. I’d rather have a primary gun and a small arm than allow someone to spawn in with a long range rifle and a short range one.

> We don’t have enough information on that officially to make a judgement, we know officially that Thruster Pack (Jetpack), Hologram and Camo is back with big changes.

I’ve been searching for this confirmation for a while now, can you link where its officially listed as a thruster pack? The only place I see this is on Halo Nation. But if it turns out like that, I do agree 343 is doing the community a favor by modifying it to that.

This has been needed since pre- Halo 3. I’m happy to see its finally coming to light.

Oh its got its drawbacks, just like everything else, but who knows what it’ll end up like. I reserve judgment for this till I play it.

  1. There are no kill cams. In the footage you’re referring to, the camera simply followed another player, and didn’t replay a kill from the enemy’s perspective.

  2. Well, we have no idea how this works. It could be game breaking, but it’s more likely to be an extra little addition to shake up a match.

  3. No problem, as long as they are balanced well

  4. (see 3)

  5. Players could run away from fights too easily, as well as sprint directly into them, ruining the flow of the game. Hopefully, slowing down when a player is shot will fix this.

  6. This is the most awesome thing 343 has mentioned so far.

Personal ordinance seems a bit unfair if it is for kill streaks but the rest are fine. (random ordinance is okay too)

Thank you. Someone who actually pays attention and thinks.

  1. its meant to provide less camping of power weapons and provide a constant moving team and a faster game. You know how longs games can be when teams just camp at a power weapon and the other team waits them out.

  2. Not every playlist has them, and some have their own set loadouts you can’t change.

  3. Already confirmed to slow players if you shoot them.

  4. I agree

Half of those break the concept of starting equal in halo.

I find nothing wrong with any of the stated complaints.

Most people just skip kill cams anyway so that isn’t much of a problem. and you don’t see them move far after they kill you anyway.

Everyone is just butthurt from Killcams because it came from COD, no other reason.

Hey, I didn’t have to say it because you already said it for me.
