I request a couple things to change in halo 5.

I have noticed a couple things in Halo 5 from the other halos I played that are FPS from the original halo trilogy from bungie and 343 first halo game hlo 4. I noticed that in halo 5 you need to recharge your shields when you are not sprinting, and if you are sprinting your shields will not recharge, which that is stupid. Cause I remember on halo reach n halo 4 if you sprinted on the run of combat or from fall damage to your shields and your still sprinting your shield still recharges no matter if you are sprinting or not. The next thing I noticed is melee. Now I know melee been in every halo whether you are standing, crouch n jumping in the air to melee an enemy out of the air, even with reach and 4 where the adding on air assassins was intro to halo lol I like those assassins from the air jump lol. But in halo 5 I was trying to get a elite running away from me and jump off the building and I jump right behind him and hit the melee button and nothing happen cause melee you just tap the melee button but like I said nothing happen till I hold it down to preform ground pound. To ny opinion both of these should change to where shields can recharge even if your sprinting, and the melee should be able to preform in air as well by tapping the melee button. Cause I am a old time halo fan since halo ce the very original by bungie came out and I did compare the sprinting when shields are down when sprinting as they do recharge. Please do fix these 2 things I said bout this cause it would help improve halo 5 more with the old abilitys from the good old halo games and the one you made at start of halo 4 343.

The point of losing the ability to recharge your shields while Sprinting is to entice you to stop sprinting. This was done for a very deliberate reason, to prevent people from running away from fights and surviving.

Melee does work in the air, the problem is there’s too small of a buffer where the controller thinks “The user is performing a melee” and “The user is performing a Ground Pound.”

And I request that Halo 6 has the classic and iconic art style and also that it plays classic. No but seriously, the whole not sprinting while shields recharge is not stupid. It’s actually a really good thing, now you can’t get a cheap get away.

Yes but bungie that made reach didn’t effect the shield recharge with sprint ability and neither did it in 343 game of halo 4. Which I find it reliable to sprint away from the danger zone to recharge your shields not just sprint away and then sit around the corner or just the normal jug walk that ain’t sprinting to be one exposed sitting duck waiting for shields to be recharge

Like I don’t mind other things and etc even with the ability to swap seats like driving the warthog n you have no gunner and getting shot at and you swap to the gun now I like that and that beats where you jump out of the driver seat n run to the gun seat of it

Shields recharging while sprinting should never be a thing again.

Please learn spelling and proper grammar usage.

If you really want your shield to recharge while sprinting (which it shouldn’t), play a Warzone mode and use the Upgraded Thrusters armor mod.

The assassination problem is just a problem with your timing. To assassinate in the air you kinda have to do a quick press-release-hold combo, so you melee instead of charge the ground pound. As long as you’re holding the button once the melee animation has started (you can quickly release and then press again and hold), the assassination should perform as expected.

K cause I been doing lots of gameplay vids of halo warzone firefight which I have it on youtube and in one of them try to get a elite out of the air from jumping off the armory on temple

As far as I know (I’m not completely sure), some elites in firefight can’t be assassinated when they still have shields.

Yeah and that was a bad thing.

And that’s exactly why they changed it.

this game’s almost 2 years old, they won’t simply change those things just because you’re requesting it, lol

Yea but I would only use sprint to like I said run away for a sec to recharge and return to the fight, like reach regardless how many health points I had left

Yes please do. And everything you request isn’t even a bad thing. Stop being salty and actually learn how to play not blame the game for you not being able to run away from every gun fight.

I’m seeing everyone in this thread defending the lack of shield recharge when sprinting, but I hate it. It doesn’t make sense. Why would your armor say “Oh. He’s moving quickly. Better not heal.”? I prefer how it was done in Reach, where getting shot at would just prevent you from being able to sprint. That makes more sense.

Upgraded Thrusters is Rare! I recently got it and use it whenever I’m using a Mythic weapon.

gameplay =/= realism
one more word: balance
balance always comes before “sense”

I’ll rather have them keep the current way of sprint for the next Halo games. Hey! Reduces the amount of people running away because they can’t win a fight they got themselves involved in. I can imagine how many times people will complain because somebody was just endlessly sprinting and getting cheap melee kills because of the ability to recharge your shields while sprinting.

They made shields tied to sprint to discourage players from running. Basically what you are trying to bring back. They are trying to prevent that so it’s not coming back.

As for the melee, Elite bosses can’t be assassinated until their shields drop so that they aren’t as easy to take down.

Smh that’s why it’s in the game. No one wants you to run away right as you’re about to die. It is cheap. This way, you won’t run into gunfights knowing if you jumped into a bad situation, you can just run out. It requires you to have a strategy, be in key positions, and not just run around recklessly. If you want that gameplay style, there’s many of CoD games you could play. I saw this one meme perfectly describing this. Halo is like chess. CoD is like checkers. The sprint that you’re suggesting will make halo like checkers, and the majority doesn’t want that.
