I was happy playing other Halo games until this sorry game came out, and I really wish H4 was a direct sequel to Halo 3. I remember is some vidoc or whatever it was that 343 said “They would take Halo back to it’s roots”. Was Reach halo’s roots (Yes it is a prequel, but you know what I mean), I don’t think so. I did actually enjoy Reach, but that might just be me. Now that being said, Reach was not as good as the original trilogy’s formula. For some reason 343 decided that Halo and CoD are one of the same, is that the case? Anyway, they did a great job making Halo as much like it’s polar opposite as they could. They were so vague in all their trailers and whatnot. How were we to know that Active Camo and Jetpack would dominate the sandbox. Why would you claim to bring original Halo back, and then just add everything that was never in Halo to start with! That’s borderline false advertising, and I think they need to come clean. I honestly think they are trying to kill off the old Halo players (figuratively speaking of course) so that they’ll have more room for their 5 year old players. This game could not have been more geared towards casuals, it’s almost degrading. Bungie would not recognize the “Halo” game this masquerades to be.
I know this post sounds negative, but the truth hurts. I mean common, loadouts? They might as well just call Spartan Ops Spec ops and call “loadouts” classes. This is truly Call of Halo: 4 and I’m sick of it. This better be a damn good TU that they’ve promised in January.
I agree with you in almost everything your said above. Especially about making room for all the 5 year old players. I think that they put a bad name on the Halo franchise, there are not many things wrong with it, but the 4 or 5 things that are wrong with it, are the things that make it such a bad game. All of the new medals that you can get, is clearly making the 5 year old’s feel better about them selves. You can get a medal, just for dying, (or almost dying). The “Distraction” medal. Wow… And like you said, the truth hurts, but it is turning into a COD game. That’s why I just play only Reach, I was kinda fond of Reach, it was more like Halo, even though that game was not very good either, (Just a personal opinion) I still prefer it over Halo 4. Which is very sad, because me and my brother were very excited for this game, but, when it did come out, we were sorely disappointed.
Just for the record though, I think that the Campaign was absolutely amazing, and great. The ONLY thing worth saving in this game. The Campaign.

Bungie had the same thing in halo reach it was called “close call”. What other game has had something similar that is even named the same. Oh ya, COD.

And I don’t blame 343i. I blame Microsoft for rushing developement of the game and abandoning old ties for new money. I don’t care for mlg but they are a -Yoink!- sight more interesting than -Yoink!-.

True, but Halo 4 has a generic kill medal… Seriously? So if you don’t get a kill with virtually any of the power weapons that have medals, you still get a generic kill metal. There have been hundreds of times where I’ve shot someone once and gotten an assit, there are metals for dying 3 times and then getting a kill, having two passengers in a vehicle, and so on
I just wish everyone would realize that Bungie wouldn’t have done a better job than 343i with Halo 4, because they were sick of making Halo. 343 decided to continue making Halo and I am glad they did so I wouldn’t have to be stuck with Reach as my last Halo. I am glad 343 decided to take up the challenge and make a game that I will be playing for a long time. I haven’t lost faith in Halo or 343i and I never will. The community makes me depressed because they treat Halo 4 like a piece of trash. It doesn’t matter who makes Halo. Halo is Halo. It never stops feeling like it. Oh well. I guess there is one thing I will actually give up on in Halo. And that, is the community…

They are angry because something they loved was taken from them and turned into something completely different for no reason.
