I don’t want to waste $10 on maps that I will NEVER see again in Matchmaking after the playlist goes away.
The same thing happened with Reach. I bought the first 2 DLC’s and almost never saw the maps again. Yet in Halo 3, I always saw Avalanche, Standoff and Sandbox in BTB, I always saw Blackout, Foundry and Heretic in Rumble Pit, and I always saw Rat’s Nest and Citadel in Team Slayer. You know why that was?

It is not fair for me to shell out extra money to play maps that I’m not able to use, simply because other are unwilling or unable to pay for. It’s a shame too because I would’ve gladly bought Majestic, the maps look better than most of the Launch maps.
I dont play big team much but when I do I almost always run into crimson maps.
Get majestic.

Landfall is an amazing map (so are the others, landfall stands out though :/)

I say you should buy it so what if it get’s taken out of matchmaking eventually they all do but this map pack is amazing I mean look at the background freaking awesome never has they’re been such a beautiful background so IF they remove it from matchmaking go into custom games and stare at the background for hours
Actually, DLC maps appear a lot more often in Halo 4 than in Reach. You will frequently be given the option to vote on DLC maps to play on as long as the maps are the suitable size for the playlist. For example, Crimson maps are big and will pop up a lot in BTI, but not gametypes like Infinity Slayer.
I’d say don’t be afraid to buy Majestic! The maps are very good IMO, and if you like epic maps with awesome backgrounds, a couple of cool new gametypes, and close-range combat… Buy it. Like, right now. You won’t regret it.
Well in my experience I get Crimson quite regularly in BTB. I haven’t seen harvest in regular slayer, thank god, but I feel it should be in BTB as well.
The new maps just plain rock and I guarantee you’ll see 'em in the smaller playlists with regularity… They’re too good not to include! That’s my recommendation anyway.

From what I’ve heard Harvest pops up frequently in CTF.
I’d like to see the map packs become free after a number of months, say 3 or 4 months. I think Bungie used to do that with Halo 2/3 and it really helped increase the maps voting frequency.
The early adopters, LE owners and season pass holders will always pay to play early and enjoy the first few months of release. After the grace period make them free in the interest of the game and keeping the map packs alive in matchmaking.

This is true. I see DLC a lot in Halo 4 Matchmaking.
I think since the Map Pass was included in the Limited Edition helped so DLC is seen more.
I have both Limited Edition and the Halo console too. Yes I totally Halo’ed out for 4 big time. Glad I did the game is amazing.
Hopefully 343i does not cave in to the tryhards and whiners and ruin this amazing game.

They come up in BTB quite often, and I’d imagine the Majestic maps will come up in Slayer/Objective after Castle is out. OP should definitely buy them; they’re great.
It’s sad that you won’t buy Majestic because you didn’t like Crimson. The Majestic map pack is the best map pack to come out for a Halo game in a long time. And unlike previous Halo games, these actually show up outside of DLC specific playlists. I bought the first map pack for Reach and none of the others due to never seeing them come up. I can safely say that it’s different with Halo 4. I get the option for Crimson maps all the time in BTB.
