Definitely should not change the game for everyone just for the sake of accessibility.
Yes, I know my original post was different. But the only reason for that was that 343i doesn’t seem to care about hand injuries. So therefore the “equal starts” post. I’m not blaming you in the slightest. It is just that I have to look for options. 343i doesn’t care about hand injuries? Maybe they care about equal starts. And because these forums are feedback for 343i I thought I give it a go.

Have you tried killing a strafing enemy with the sidekick on MnK?
I think you would be surprised…
Exactly, similar the DMR. Sure you can spam the fire rate, but short of a few very specific scenarios, it’s not going to give you positive results.
On that note, can we also address how despite the fact the Commando is full auto that its use as a full auto weapon is a red herring that players need to stop latching onto like it’s gospel?
A full auto sidekick dude that won’t work with bloom like at all it’s be Elmer Fudd shooting all over the place
I tried it not comfortable to me, but that doesn’t mean other people won’t do it.
Bloom isn’t that bad on the sidekick it’s just a tad more than the BR
I like the idea of the commando, but it just feels inconsistent compared to the br or sidekick.
Which is also why I get irritated when one side gets br, and the other team gets a commando. I don’t consider them equals.
There’s already a full-auto Sidekick. Its called the Commando.
It’s weird that people assume m&k players have auto clickers or assign random stuff to scroll wheel. Especially when modded controllers have been out and about for a looooong time. I grew up playing controller into my mid 20’s and have been playing m&k for a few years - and the amount of misconceptions I see pop up are insane. In both directions, at that. Some real strange prejudices out here
This does confuse me. On Streets especially. One side gets an easily accessible Commando, Mangler and Stalker, and the other gets a Pulse Carbine and BR. It’s not a symmetrical map, but it’s symmetrical enough to warrant similar layouts.
I think this has to do with the damage nerf. The Commando takes a lot to drop an enemy, which causes players to ramp up the shots when they see enemy players approaching/running away, causing them to lose accuracy, when it should be functioning as a slightly longer ranged counterpart to the BR.
The rate of fire is capped. Both the controller and mouse and hit that cap.
I’m not against the idea and I’d at least like the option to test out full auto sidekick in customs to see how that changes the sandbox if at all.
For real. I treat that gun as a DMR more than anything and it still underperforms.
Finally, someone comes out and says it
Bloom in Infinite works on a curve, for example the Commando has no bloom during the first four shots at full auto, the recoil during the first four shots is comparable to a BR burst, during shots 5-8 bloom and recoil will increase, Bloom will build on itself until hitting max bloom at shot 9.
At Max fire rate the Sidekick has a tiny amount of bloom for the first 6 shots, enough to make shooting at max speed bad at long range. At medium range the bloom on the first six shots is insignificant, only on the 7th shot when the bloom starts to build on itself do you need to pause to get a consistent head-shot, Bloom will max out at the 9th shot. At close range you don’t even need to pause for the 7th shot. An optimal Sidekick kill only requires 7 shots.
Yes Infinite has bloom, No it is not like Reach bloom (with the exception of the Needle rifle). Unless you’re trying to snipe people with the sidekick, firing at max speed is often the best course of action. With my little clicky mouse button, I definitely have an easier time firing the Sidekick at max speed compared to someone with a controller.
There’s already a full-auto Sidekick. Its called the Commando.
The Commando is a pick-up weapon. The Sidekick is a starting weapon. If the Sidekick was a pick-up weapon I wouldn’t have made this post. I would’ve just never picked up the Sidekick from the map.
Accessibility options are available. Buy an elite controller. You can set the trigger stop to be much shorter so that it is more in line with a mouse click.
