I really like the graphics but something missing

I am really happy with the graphics. Especially the multiplayer. But we have seen unreal engine 5’s nanite/high detail even at long distance. And from the forza horizon 2021 reveal, Forza also has its own version of “nanite”.

At close range, Halo infinite looks amazing. But in the distance, its clear that everything is very low detail.

As a side note, after all these e3 demos, I think “next gen” “PS6 XSX2” will have achieved such good graphics that nobody cares about them anymore. It clear that at the end of this XSX generation all games will easily achieve raytracing 60fps games.

If you pause The multiplayer it looks insanely incredible. We play in first person and I don’t think we will be able to really tell the difference with depth of field.

It’s all about art style. Unreal 5 is for photo realism. 343 isn’t going for that with Infinite.

The thing is that Halo Infinite is not a next gen game. It’s an Xbox One game ported to Xbox Series X and PC.

That said, I think it’s important we give feedback which 343 Industries stated they love, like improving the glove textures and sniper textures, so over the next 10 years they can improve the visuals.

Unreal Engine 5 is not ready til next year so i dont see how you expect those feature in an Game that will come out this year which was suppose to come out last year even. Its not that easy to implement completly new Rendering Systems in an “old” game.

I just hopped the graphics takes a more realistic aproach.

I am a fan of realism myself but that is what battlefield is for. Halo is just a different art style and for what they are going for I think it looks incredible and also looks incredibly fun. On the realism side i think Battlefield 2042 looks life like as hell and I will be getting that game as well to play for a strong month before i give my life over to Halo again.

UE5 isn’t even finished and out yet, that comparison is flawed, as is the comparison to FH5, which is a racing game.
Racing game’s have always been benchmarks for graphical fidelity, unlike FPS games, which rely more on a stable framerate.

This concerns me in a way. Infinite is, in a way, marketed as the flagship game for the Series X. I’m sure the final release will look and play brilliantly, but It does make me wonder if there could’ve been more visual improvements to the game if it were to leave the Xbox One behind.

Dropping this in multiple forums is a fine way to bring attention, but it is also annoying & kind of rude.

As others have mentioned, this is pre-release gameplay that has been crunched into Youtube. I do agree that something is lacking upon comparison however these are different games, different engines, different design philosophies, & different points in development.

To end this… (For the time being till we see more info)

  • Pre-release gameplay that has been crunched into Youtube. - We have hand/ glove customization. - Master Chiefs worn/ torn armor provides a simple reason for that look. - You compared a Spartan-IV techsuit to an aged Spartan-II techsuit. - What class of Spartan are we in Multiplayer this time? Spartan-IV’s like H4 & H5? Since there’s an in-lore training mode… we have to be Spartan-IV’s in Multiplayer so go look at that trailer & compare!!! (I already did, the gloves look smooth but I think there are multiple options to change on this piece TBD)

I need floaty Valhalla water again. So many dead moving down stream with it’s physics was the most amazing thing I’ve ever saw for the time.

Unreal 5 is a little ways off - and developers will need time to make some really good games with it.

And while nanite looks great… it does have it’s limitations… and aren’t there a lot of caveats beng placed on frame rates etc. At least early on. So I really doubt you could get a game such as Infinite with it’s large areas and hectic action running at 60fps… let alone 120fps.

I like the art style showcased on the frame paused on 13:57.

in terms of design, do you honestly think thats the best choice? The character literally becomes a white silhouette. It’s like an awful photoshop date gone wrong. The “bloom” makes it even worse . Spartans are not Christmas lights. I don’t get it. It’s literally like staring close up at Christmas lights. Thats the effect it gives off.

Yeah, it’s fine. It’s a game about space warriors fighting aliens while wearing space diapers and having a melodrama contest in the cutscenes.

They tried that got burned for it. So now we are here

The setting doesnt matter. You can have insanely bright colors in any game. It’s really a discussion about color/hue/contrast/etc. Surely there are other space games without such high color intensity.

Why are you sending an Random video which records and youtube video and then compresses it again into another youtube video with even an lower Bitrate?

Why not just sending the OG 4k video with a Time link… its simple here Halo Infinite | Multiplayer Overview - YouTube

Also ya i like this artstyle, it reminds me to Halo 2 alot, especialy this city level. For me it feels like a healthy mix of Halo 2 and Reach with new gameplay mechanics.

ok I’ll use this example, same thing, look at 12:02. Why is the flag glowing like a christmas tree? It looks incredibly offsetting and uncanny.
