I Really Hope...

I hope that we never get to see Chief’s face in the series… Even if he ends up dying or taking off his helmet at the end of H6, the camera’s angle should cover his head like the end of CE when he takes his helmet off.

I just hope he ends up looking like Matthew McConaughey…

=)

Depends on the story. If it contributes to what’s happening and the experience well, I’d be fine with it.

I think, eventually you have to give your main character a face, but only if it makes him more relatable. You would honestly need a very good, dramatic moment a sort of climax to ever show his face. I think him just pulling his helmet off without a valid reason with no build up would be epically lame.

That would be really hard to do, IMO. Revealing Master Chief’s face would have to mean his face has to be a really charismatic one. Like one look and you know this guys is bad–Yoink-. It also has to appeal to wide audience.

I don’t like it but this is what he looked like while training.

Yeah, the whole bronze skinned, gap in teeth thing.

Funny thing is, Chakas was bronze skinned and Gamelpar from Primordium had a gap in his teeth.

ive put alot of tought into this topic and i cant decide either way would be cool cus although we now a good deal about him he is a man of mystery, but at the same time it would be nice to see the face behind the -Yoink!- kickin machine that is chief. but i dont think they will show him its to much pressure on 343

What…? Master Chief isn’t bronze skinned.

OT: I would love for them to at least show it at the ending. We already basically know what he looks like. :stuck_out_tongue:

I would be interested to see a face I don’t know of another game that has a masked main character that you don’t see his or her face.

People focus too much on the gap in the teeth thing. Children often have a gap in their teeth. It goes away.

I do think they should show it. Chief is his own person and I think once the conclusion of Halo comes near, it will be needed to let things draw to a close.

> “If he takes off the helmet, he should be you,” says Marty O’Donnell, Halo 's audio director. “I mean, that’s the big deal. Taking off the helmet is unacceptable.” Engineering lead Chris Butcher agrees: “It’s your experience. You have to be able to pour yourself into that icon.” When nongamers look at the Master Chief’s helmet, they see a forbidding, anonymous mask. But when gamers look at it, they see a mirror. They see themselves.

I hope we never see the Master Chiefs face too. It would be a shame to ignore the creators intent and in my opinion they are right; taking off the helmet is unacceptable.

I hope that, in the final levels of Halo 6, and the Chief prepares to sacrifice himself and Cortana for some big, galaxy saving reason, we get to see his face, if only once.

never

He’s tanned at least or a bit on the darker side of caucasian.

If it was a minor thing, they shouldn’t have put in the books in the first place then.

That’s a poor argument. You have to describe how someone looks and a gap in between teeth is a distinctive feature. Adult John-117 wouldn’t have the gap but it still an important part of the description of child John-117.

i think the only way his face should be shown is how you said to bring the story to a close but hopefully not in 4 if it happens in 6 yes but again only at the ending

Chief starts to remove his helmet, you glimpse part of his neck. The credits start rolling onto the screen and the background goes dim.
