I Really Hope They Get Halo Infinite Right.

I’ve been playing Halo for all my life and I won’t lie, I was really disappointed with the route that was taken with Halo 4 and 5, b/c they both didn’t feel like Halo that I have always been playing prior to them coming out. Now I’ve been hearing that Halo Infinite might be MMO like, and a live service type game. This worries me b/c Halo would be taken even farther than what it used to be. I’m not saying that they shouldn’t try a few things new with Halo, I’m saying that I really want them to make Halo more like it used to be before Halo 4 and 5. In my opinion, Halo 3 is still the best Halo and unless Halo Infinite takes Halo back more towards it’s roots, my decision won’t change.

I have faith in 343i, but I don’t want them to take Halo farther away from what it should be/used to be, and in my mind, making it into an MMO, live service type of game would after Halo 4 and 5 didn’t do that well, will do just that if the rumors and what I’ve been hearing are true. Based on what we’ve seen with Master Chief getting something close to his classic armor back and other things give me a little bit off hope, but I also hope they get everything else right.

yeah i agree they should make a halo game not wow if i were a 343 dev i would try to research halo ce 2 and 3 and build on to that kinda like reach

343 Industries is using lessons from Halo 4 and 5 along with a artstyle that is reminiscent to Combat Evolved to an extent. I believe they know what they’re doing. Personally, I like the Halo titles 343 hae developed in the past, sure they were different from the Bungie era but it just added to the already beautiful uniqueness that the Halo franchise gives so I’m extra excited to see how Infinite is.

Halo wars 2 styles were in the right direction. We had new and old art styles side by side. And the characters and development in that campaign were so much better than 5. MTs and lootboxes would worry me if confirmed for Infinite. Depends on how it’s handled. 343 has learned from past mistakes, so I think Infinite will be good.

Here’s my take: I won’t play Infinite if it doesn’t play like a classic Halo, but I won’t get overly angry. I’ll be disappointed, sad, not mad. I’ve had my trilogy, I don’t need to see what the lil green devil is up to these days if that makes sense–the story ended with the Chief looping back around, drifting in unknown space for the rest of his days.

Honestly, I don’t think Infinite will play well at all, but at the very least it’s got a nice art style.

I understand. I’ve played all the fps Halo games and still have a blast playing the original trilogy. I still like playing Halo 4 and 5, but I do agree that Halo kinda lost a bit of it’s charm with them. I feel the same way. I hope that Halo Infinite succeeds because many people are setting extremely high expectations with the return of the original art-style and everything.

I’m with you on the boat of misery, albeit a sinking one but still. I hope 343 finds a way to inflate the emergency raft. They seem to be on the right track.

“That’s not going to happen.” - the Master Chief

Halo Infinite isn’t going to take that drastic of a shift from the franchise’s roots. Will it have some sort of post-launch content to return for (like in Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo 5: Guardians)? Sure. Will it suddenly become Destiny? Absolutely not.

343 Industries can’t afford to do something like that with a mainline entry, and they and Microsoft both know that. With all of their changes, they’ve never once walked away from a singleplayer+multiplayer experience.
