I’m sorry but I just don’t have fun anymore, it just feels like complete garbage now during any of these instances:
Playing by myself, with the intention of playing Team Slayer or Legendary Slayer and being thrown into a JIP Infinity Slayer game.
Playing by myself and people leave the lobby during voting because they didn’t get what they wanted.
Before I get started, I will say this; I absolutely hate Infinity Slayer most of the time, random Ordnance ticks me off so much, along with Personal Ordnance. I hate being killed from something randomly given to someone that gives them an advantage. It rustles my jimmies.
So now with all these changes, I’m either randomly forced to play stuff I don’t like, I lose teammates or enemies due to a bad interface design that allows people to leave during the voting lobby.
It doesn’t even feel like I’m playing a Halo game anymore, I honestly feel Halo Reach was more of a true Halo game over Halo 4, and I seriously get ticked off playing Reach, more than I do when playing Halo 4. It’s just Halo 4 feels so empty, I get bored after an hour of playing. But I could still play 3 hours of reach and still have some fun.
Disclaimer: All of this are my personal view, and I am not trying to impose my view on anyone else.
You really shouldn’t have to put a disclaimer to say that it is all only your view, as you made it quite clear in the rest of the post that they were your opinions. But I understand that the defenders sometimes make you feel like you need to make yourself overly clear.
I also got bored of Halo 4 super fast when I did play it. I would get bored after 2 or 3 games, the only reason I would have to play beyond that was because I was talking to friends on the mic.

I have had people gripe about personal views and that it may conflict with other people’s views before, even though I don’t try and speak for others, I try to keep them in mind when I make some posts.
And yeah, the only reason I keep playing Halo is because I have a good friend-base that plays halo and we often talk while playing, but since the release of Halo 4, 3 of the 7 people I play with have quit playing… And I play half as much as I used to as it is.

As far as people quitting the lobby, well if a restaurant starts serving garbage, then people will get up and leave. As for jip into infinity playlists, well people who like infinity get jip into big team slayer play lists, works both ways.
Over the past few months 343 have made changes to appease the competitive players, such as butchering the btis playlists, making the br an op weapon to match the dmr etc.
Just as you are fed up with h4 now, so are a lot of people that enjoyed infinity playlists, it seems like all the changes over the past few months have accomplished nothing. Except to make more people leave, and to make h4 a laggy, mismatched mess.

All of which could’ve been avoided if they had balanced the game at launch and had a social/Competitive playlist, but nope 343 wanted to throw out what made Halo’s matchmaking fun, accessible, and reliable.
The population numbers in Australia at night are dropping to the lowest I have seen, about 1700 in btis. The result is laggy mismatched games, where low ranked players are matched against high rank players, with slaughter the obvious result.
So the casual and lower ranked player is leaving the game.
Before the changes over the past few months, the old school halo fans were complaining about infinity settings, not true halo etc. etc. So 343 in their wisdom butchered the infinity playlists, with slayer pro, or big team slayer, or whatever you prefer to call it.
We can’t have a seperate playlist for big team slayer due to the low population, they cried. Well look at the population now. People who enjoyed and supported big team infinty settings have been shafted, good one 343.
There is no longer a playlist for the casuals and lower ranked players. They have become easy meat for the competitive crowd with their op br.s and dmr.s
And yes, I realise infinity playlists weren’t designed just for casuals and lower ranked players, but it was a better start off playlist then the boring, team dominated br kill fest playlists that have invaded the infinity playlists.

I hear this all over this forum and I don’t understand it. Randomness is and always has been a part of Halo. How does it matter whether ordnance drops or you spawn next to it on the map just after it respawns itself? It just sounds a lot like people want to have their cake and eat it too.

Halo 3’s The Pit:
1 Rocket Launcher (Rocket Hallway every 3 minutes)
1 Energy Sword (Blue Room every 2 minutes)
2 Sniper Rifles (Snipe Spawn at both bases every 2 minutes)
2 Shotguns (Shotgun Spawn at both bases every 2 minutes)
1 Active Camo (Invis Hallway every 3 minutes)
1 Overshield (Overshield Spawn every 3 minutes)
Across all Halo CE/2/3 default gametypes:
All players spawn with the same weapons, grenades, starting and pickup ammo, motion sensor range, movement speed, movement ability, jump height, visual abilities, reload time, shield recharge time, aiming abilities, vehicle health, and any other ability. No players have inherent in-game ability advantages over others.
Now, please point to the “random” element in these settings.
So basically old school halo is predictable, no surprises, only need to become skilled with one weapon ( br or dmr ) to be competitive. Sounds pretty boring to me.
I like not being able to predict what weapon my opponent is armed with.

No offense but given that there wasn’t any questions, inquires, or any new declarations of significance within your post and considering that your personal views are no different than what many have posted on these forums (including yourself) a million times over my question to you is why bother posting it if it’s not an attempt to impose, introduce, or foist your views onto the public? Now, I’m not saying your personal views are right or wrong or that you shouldn’t post them, but I just thought that that disclaimer was quite a bit disingenuous of you.

Go play Halo 3 and get back to us on that boring and predictable factor when one weapon is used more often. I guarantee you won’t even be able to touch the veteran players as they will run around you in circles being about as unpredictable in their movement around the map as the ways they creatively kill you.
If you’ve never played traditional Halo don’t knock it. Halo has always had a dominant weapon in the game and it’s worked out fine and was extremely fun but at the same time a skilled player will kill you with say the underpowered Halo 3 pistol if they have to.
If you blame modes like Legendary Slayer being in Infinity slayer ‘cuz BR dominates’ may I give a suggestion: Perhaps adapt to the game mode as players around here love to flaunt that word at people who enjoy traditional Halo more. After all, if you are so good a little BR action for one match won’t ruin your fun. The game mode is very fun.

He’s sharing his views on Infinity, which just happen to be negative views. All he was doing with the disclaimer was making sure it was clear that these were only his personal views, and that he wasn’t trying to act like that his views are final.
I don’t think the disclaimer was necessary, but only because he shouldn’t have to clarify that these are only his opinions.
Very few of my FL plays H4 anymore. I dropped H4 to play BF3 and I’ve migrated to PS3 lately also (The Last of Us is a must play title). I’ve had almost 20k online MM games in Halo titles but H4 just hasn’t hooked me.
Don’t raise Halo Reach though. A friend was playing 2 weeks ago so I hopped on and it is almost unplayable compared to H3 and H4. Online netcode is a lot better in H4, bloom is absurd in Reach, maps in Forge are awful (the horror of Cage), jetpackers everywhere, sprint is a lot better in H4.
I’m really just waiting for XB1 and PS4 now.
I guess I played a lot of H3 as there weren’t a lot of alternatives but now there’s an enormous amount of AAA experiences out there - and plenty of B+ ones also.
