I don’t get how Halo 4, a game that is Halo 5’s PREDECESSOR and created by the same dev team, ships with more content at launch than their next game that had a longer development cycle.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Halo 5 and think it’s a great template for moving Halo foward in a progressive sense but there are so many things absent from the game that has been in Halo since 2001. I know discussions like this pop up daily and for good reason but it literally doesn’t make sense.
This was supposed to be 343’s Halo 2, their game to prove the naysayers wrong.
Warzone is awesome and think it’s a great addition to the franchise but where is Firefight? You replaced it with Spartan Ops last outing but this time has no replacement since Warzone is technically glorified BTB.
Arena has 5 permanent gametypes: Slayer, Strongholds, CTF, SWAT, and Breakout…where is Oddball, KOTH, Assault, or even Headhunter( personal favorite )?
Campaign: …
I don’t hate you 343 and I don’t want to just criticize everything you do because frankly you guys have made many improvements to the franchise but Halo 5 is quite possibly the last straw in keeping fans new and old. Halo 5 is in my opinion the best FPS on the market currently but the way they’re handling the updates and communication with the community is only going to cannibalize the future standing of Halo.
Halo has been my favorite franchise since 2001 and I’ve always enjoyed how every outing is different from the previous and Halo 5 is no different but the way it’s been handled from the marketing to release isn’t pleasing everyone.
Side note: It’s a sad reality that once this games servers get shut off years down the line it’ll be impossible to ever play a multiplayer match of Halo 5 ever again. That isn’t right.
