I Really Don't Get This In CTF

Why, for the love of God, do people have to advertise where they are while carrying a flag! This hopscotching where you drop and pickup is literally just painting a bullseye on you! It tells every member of the enemy team exactly where you are!

Yeah, I feel like thrusters get you across map fairly quickly. Juggling the flag isn’t really much quicker nor is it worth letting the other team know your position.

It helps you move faster to capture the flag…faster. And the enemy team don’t have a clue where the flag carrier is until they’ve been spotted.

Correct me if I’m wrong on that last sentence.

When you drop the flag it reveals the flag’s location.

Every time you toss the flag the other team can see it.

I don’t like when people juggle the flag for no reason but it can be a very useful tactic. I regularly grab the Overshield then juggle the flag across the map and score within seconds.

That’s a pretty legit tactic.

I can understand that, when you know what your doing I can see how it would be a great tactic, but mainly it’s the idiots who juggle on foot across a BTB map like Basin!

I wonder if if a lot of people are like the guy above, who didn’t know that it tells the enemy where you are. But honestly they should, because I’m sure the enemy has done it before and they’ve seen it!

Ill admit i do juggle it out of habbit

If your playing ctf properly you pull flag after killing 1 or more enemies and flag juggle towards teammates who will be blocking spawns while the enemy team is still on spawn timer by the time they have spawned in the non blocked spawns you will almost have it capped. If no dead on enemy team and ninja pulling don’t juggle until you have some dead or are spotted.

You can also throw the flag to teammates who are above or below you and turn to figh enemies off spawn. While juggling enemies will look at you leaving it easy for teammates to kill them as they are not aware of them.

Flag juggling is a basic skill and is very useful

Thanks for the tip, now I won’t have to crouch walk my way to our flag!

Another thing I don’t understand is when a team mate is next to our flag stand ready for a cap (and I have the area cleared out so no one can snipe or ambush) but instead of capping it, they go out in the open again and try to snipe with the pistol! I also see the enemy do the same, to me it’s dumb.

If you time it right, it’s also always good to grab the Overshield WHILE returning the flag, here’s a video I posted for example… - YouTube

Wow, thank you and awesome cap there

There’s times you should juggle and times you shouldn’t .if you’re playing against a coordinated team its very likely they already know where you’re at and just need to get the flag across the map as soon as possible.

I’m going to take it that you are a new player. Here’s a video explaining what this is and why it’s important, as well as giving an explanation of when to and when not to flag juggle.
