It’s not just the predatory MTX. I used to play Halo 2, Halo 3, and Reach for hours every single day after school. Halo 4’s multiplayer was bleh at best and Halo 5’s Warzone Firefight was fun but now playing Infinite is just not fun. I don’t like to stick to my teammates and I’ve always been able to be at least somewhat successful. Now every gunfight boils down to three points: 1. Were you lucky enough to grab any kind of weapon? 2. Did you immediately throw your grenades? 3. Do you have a teammate umbilicaled to you so you won’t instantly be double-teamed?
Spartans feel extremely weak to the point they don’t feel like the fearless -Yoink!--kicking alien slayers they’re supposed to be. I’d be fine if there was at least a playlist that was closer to the old Halo experience but it seems like 343i only cares about catering to younger players with access to their parent’s credit cards.
I’m just extremely unhappy with how the game feels right now. I know I’ll probably get silenced by the echo chamber but at least I’ve said my peace.
